there are many more but I don't want to spam the board -shot- xDD
@mimi911;
creating your own adoptable species takes commitment ;u; and lots of effort (I would know -shot- I've started 4 adoptables and only managing 1 now)
so make sure you're ready to commit yourself to handling the thread and providing adoptables frequently before you start O3O!! Also be prepared for disappointment as well, it's going to be hard at first but once things picks up you'll really have to try to start keeping up xDD and not get bored of your own thread -shot-
I'll answer some questions ;u;
Natural or unnatural designs? Or a combination of both?
A mix of both. I like natural designs that is easy and nice on the eyes. But at the same time, natural colors + natural designs is just too.. common for me. So I would think unnatural colors mixed with natural markings/designs would be the best fit and definitely the most popular amongst adopting users.
Quick adopts - or ones you have to work for?
Depends on you really. Are you looking for quick income? Or are you looking for effort? I've tried both and so I'll just tell you my experience and views on both xDD you'll just have to decide which one works for you.
My first adoptable thread was an income based adopt - I guess that means a 'quick adopt' in your case. Where I'll post a litter and basically it's first come first serve kind of thing and users have to pay a small sum (like several uncommons) to adopt. It started out fine at first and well it was ok but you're pressured to release litters frequently or people will lose interest. At the same time, litters are so quickly adopted that sometimes it feels like you're not producing enough to satisfy the whole community. So you either put a limit on how many one can adopt or like an adoption rule like, adopt one every other litter release or something.
In the end, I dropped that adoptable thread because I'm not the type of person to update frequently, I update when I have the muse to design and all that stuff. My second adoptable thread is a write-to-adopt kind of thread. Where users don't have to pay with pets but in this case with effort. Since I like reading and I like art, this adoptable is what I like more. I give users a time to create forms, apply for the adoptable. and all I have to do is admire the art and read the forms and choose the best. In this thread I release one adoptable at a time - however some adoptable threads release several at a time, doesn't really matter in my opinion just personal preference. Here I'm not pressured to constantly release and I have more time to prepare for the next adoptable/release. I'm more comfortable with this type of adoptable because it suits my needs and my person in general. However if you do not like reading long forms or judging several pages worth of forms then this might not be the type of adoptable thread you're looking for. >u<
I hope this helps?
