Real pearls come in other colours then white. I wonder if other pearls in the show do too. Crystal gem Pearl has a white gem, what if some pearls on Home world have orange or pink or black?

Wow! this is an amazing thing to point out! I wonder if they do? this could leave heaps of open spaces for different coloured OC's!
