hello stars community! we have a few things going on for december that we’re excited to share! c: this is a combined announcement from the discord (with parts written by i like bees, mythz & me) !!

first off, thank you sushifoxx && riverotter for joining us as GAs for november! you both did absolutely fantastic & were an absolute joy to have around in the staff chats! <3 they still have some adopts open on our main page, so make sure to check those out too!

over december, admins are taking a break to focus on events and planning some new feature && we won't be having GAs this month! but don't worry - guest artists will resume in the new year, so please feel free to submit artist entries at anytime!

as well, our sixth annual catvent is here! come help omen’s cry revive an ancient magical tree who appears to be dying :c you’ll earn raffle tickets for special giveaway kitties for every day you participate! and the more prompts you complete means more presents (stars items) that you can bring home from the gift shop at the end of the event━drop by here for more info !!

our annual MYO event has begun! this year, we're adding an extra twist - your free MYO ticket is common rather than NR, but your cat must be dominant white 👀 to be added, just post a link to your stars clan on this thread!

Hey, everyone! I hope everyone is having a restful holiday break, and that you've all enjoyed catvent this year ^^ Don't forget to claim your catvent prizes in the shop before rollover January 8th -> 9th!

The admin team has several small but important updates this new year:


• Albino has retired as a myth edit. All existing albino owners will be contacted asap to choose a different myth edit for their cat to pass in the nursery. Albino eyes will now require an unnatural eye color and heterochromia edit, and may appear on any cat. Like other coats with specific eye colors irl, albino cats are also no longer required to have albino eyes.
  
• Somatic mutation has been updated. The description has expanded to allow anything which changes one allele of the coat in a small, localized patch. This cannot be a legal tortie color combo.
• Kit growth dates are now calculated from the time the ticket was accepted, rather than when the litter was posted. This may allow some litters with longer waits to auto-grow!
• Star's graces have been halved in price from 350 stardust to 175 stardust. They may now be applied multiple times to one cat if you want, and the description has been simplified to "skips 3 weeks of a cat's growth wait" to be clearer.
• Some background changes happened on the staff side of things! ❤️

We're also excited to have Hazelfang and spideysense as our GAs for January! ^^ We've loved seeing their entries and MYOs lately and know they'll have lots of fun cats in store for the community!

Hey everyone! As a quick mini announcement this month, a few small rule changes/clarifications have been added:


• You may not post work-in-progress or incomplete MYOs (as this effectively unfairly "reserves" a month's slot with an incomplete cat and delays approvals).
  
• Nursery prompts should not be reusing content from other prompts/mechanics. You may, however, resubmit a nursery prompt for a pairing until the ticket is accepted (at which point it cannot be used again). Nursery prompts should be written/drawn by yourself / the person you're splitting the ticket with only.
• Our Discord server received some small rule changes/clarifications as well!
