Hello, it's been a while since I posted here.
However, I was looking for some advice on a fanfiction I may be willing to write.

It's basically about what goes on during 'Scar's Reign' ie; when Scar & the hyenas take over pride rock.
There is a quote by Linda Woolverton, who co-wrote the screenplay for TLK.

Initially, Nala had a little brother that I included so she could protect him from Scar. There was a lot in the Pride Lands while Simba is away with Timon and Pumbaa, but it was too depressing. How do you animate a concentration camp?"

That's the vibe I want to go for. A 'concentration' feel. Death, desperation, illness, starvation, etc;
It would be very grim, & very dark. After all, when Simba comes back there are only about 7 lioness' shown left. Compared to the many seen at the beginning of the movie.
As well as that, if you've noticed there are a lot of 'body types' of the general lioness' in the pride. Sarabi-type lioness' { stocky, bulky, square-jawed, etc; }, and Sarafina-type lioness' { leaner, less stocky, & thin. }. During the beginning of the movie there are more Sarafina type lioness', but at the end many of the Sarafina type lioness' disappeared, and Sarabi lioness' seem to take the majority. This may hint to make of the leaner lioness' not being able to survive what happened.

So based on all of that, this is my very, very, very rough plot map of what happens. It's really just random bullets, not listed in any order. Also, I have listed some lioness' that are not in the movie, but are in the books.
& another note, since Simba was banished when he was a cub, & became a full adult when he returned, there is a lot of time that happened during this. so obviously ,these events happen over the course of time, it isn't just boom, death, boom prey gone, boom illness, boom simbas back.

- many 'leaner' sarafania-esque lioness' die out due to starvation & not being strong enough
- scar & hyenas kills many, once even for food in times of desperation
- 2 end of being killed / left behind on a long distance hunt
- many die of starvation, and an illness spreads that infects and kills many of the females. or makes them weaker.
- only 7 survive
{ sarabi, nala, kula [ not mentioned in movies ], sabini
-mheetu is involved here. he protects sister nala during scar's reign. ends up dying trying to protect nala and a few other lioness' when the hyenas become to rough / aggressive
- sarafina, mother of nala, dies due to illness. nala grieves, and this is what pushes her towards leaving and trying to find simba
- tama [ not mentioned in movies but in the book ] ends up being eaten by hyenas in time of desperation. the lioness in return kill a hyena and her cub for revenge
- sabini was a cub at the time, but grew up during scars reign. she grew very rough and brutal because of this, she pushed nala to find simba
- the mountain pride, a mountain across the pridelanders, happens to have a few lioness' come over and try to aid the pridelanders. zazu had brought them over, since he had knowledge of them. they tried to help hunt, but couldnt when they realized all of the prey was gone. zazu had escaped out of his prison, but was later captured again after helping find the pride. after seeing the desperation however and almost loosing one of their own, they leave during the night. malka's mother is one of them, she almost was killed when sneaking in, & makes the group leave since she has her cub, malka, who needs her at home. rather selfish, and wanted to leave as soon as she saw the severity of the situation. however, her sister was very sympathetic to the pride, and was there to comfort nala & the other pridelanders at the loss of sarafina

I also would be looking for some female Swahili names to fill in the gaps of unknown lioness'. { personalities / descriptions would be fantastic too! }

Please tell me some of you know about the sub-cannon characters! No one I've met does, and they're like, "Who's your favorite character?" and my response is always "Mheetu with Kopa close behind." But they tell me I don't know what I'm talking about.

Hakuna matata if you don't, I don't mind. We are one, no matter how much you know. (I know more than what I listed, by the way.)

Another thing is my brother hates it and so does my family because anytime they watch it, I know it word for word. I say responses from the Lion King a lot. And my brother hates me for it.

Like when he was doing who-knows-what.

I'm also going through a tough time right now, and all that plays in my head is this:

EDIT: Oh, and also, I write TLK fanfics aside from poetry and regular novels. If you want to read them...I have Nuka's story , beginning as a cub, Kopa's return, Scar's reign (Shadowland). During the shadowland one, Scar needs an heir, and you know. He, uh...'takes advantage' of the linoesses, if you catch my drift. Though it is not graphic nor is it described. He becomes the father of a large croup of cubs. Mheetu being one of them. Another is Sarabi and Scar's daughter (because Scar r.a.p.e.d. her and other lionesses, she was not willing) and later, Nala leaves with the cubs, takes them to be raised in Malka's pride, then leaves to find help, and she finds Simba. Sort of Nala's story.
