Lights On Lights Off Fanclub

The last couple of years, I've had a goal to be visited by over half of the player base. I love giving out treats and seeing everyone's stories. 😍 I'm keeping that goal this year, but so far I'm a little behind. Fingers crossed.

I made myself a trick-or-treater this year, too, but I've only visited 4 people myself. I just have a tiny wishlist and don't want people to worry about treating me, lol.

me too, I fell behind so fast. I just sent out a mass of pet treats instead of art.
I also had to cut my stories to a copy and paste, lol. bit off more than I could chew. next year I'll figure out a better solution to be creative but in a timely manner. I left people hanging for quite a few days.



Ah thank you. That’s what I thought but then in past (not in LoLo tho) people had crossed off to indicate that one so yeh definitely can be confusing



ahh I am one of those people lol, except I added color to better indicate whether my lights are on or off.
I always assumed crossed off meant all done/not occurring. I included both so I wouldn't have to copy and paste it back to back, personally.

Featured Users

Featured Users is a way for users to get noticed when they have their lights on. We will occasionally go through the list of users and randomly pick out 10 who have their lights on and post those 10 in a Featured Users.

You will still need to check the lights status of the users! Don't send them messages unless their lights are on. Their lights may be on at the time I post the list, but they may change their status before you see it, so always check.

Additionally, please do not quote/repost this if you are commenting on it.

How is LOLO going for everyone?

Hey all, so I now that things have cooled down a bit I wanted to get started on the fanclub prompts I promised! I wanted to wait till things slowed down a bit since I know a lot of people are busier early on just sending out trick or treat pms and responding to them.

I'm not going to set a schedule for the prompts at this time, there will be at least 24 hours between prompts, though we also may go a few days between them too.

For these prompts, a fanclub mod will give a short sentence or even a single word as a prompt, and the idea is simply that you create something around that prompt. It can be anything you want, a quick story, a dressup, a sketch, etc. And you share what you made here. This is really just for fun, a small creativity prompt you can participate in if you want to. The only rules are keep it appropriate for CS and respect other's entries. I will keep a list of all the prompts on the first page of this thread, and you are free to participate in any of them at any time. The prompts will all be themed around halloween/autumn, but you are free to take them in whatever direction you want.

In other news, I also wanted to ask what everyone thinks of the changes this year, I'm especially curious if anyone is finding the new live player list helpful, if you find yourself using that more or if you still prefer to use the regular list.

I did see a few people mention they are enjoying the gift preferences on the list, so I'm glad those are helpful. I'm certainly up for improving it too if anyone has suggestions. I'd like to make sure its easy to use for everyone.

One of the other changes was that we started letting people turn their lights on right after posting their form instead of waiting to be accepted. I expect this one to be a more seamless change, but I'd definitely like to know if anyone had problems revolving around this as well.

at first i was using the ppl list in the forum but once the number crossed 20-30 i switched to the live player list and found it super easy to use!!! so thank you for that!!

How is LOLO going for everyone?

it's going well! i'm constantly surprised at how generous people are, it's amazing. i'm spacing out how many pms i send a day to hopefully not run out before halloween comes lol but i do respond to pms i get as quickly as i can. there's a lot of creativity again this year, both in the costumes and stories.

this is my 2nd year playing, and the gift preferences are very helpful! the visuals on the list make it easy to tell at a glance, and sometimes people elaborate more on their preferences in their forms. i am 100% for keeping that format. I do think that the image for art treats doesnt quite translate - as in, it's hard for me to make it out as a paintbrush when looking at it, since the symbol is so small. it looked like just a line, while the other symbols are distinctive.
as for the live player list, i've downloaded it from gdocs to help with keeping track of visitors at the start of the game, which i found convenient (it saves a bit of work on my part). since then i've only used it when i get a lolo pm but the person isnt on the regular list yet.
another change was that the list is updated with username changes. last year, i remember having some problems with users who had changed their names during lolo, because it was harder to find their place on the list. on the other hand, having the name they signed up with listed makes it easier to find their forms in the thread. this year i'm checking the forms a lot more because of the game preferences, so discrepancies between current username and username at signup are somewhat annoying for me personally. overall, I do appreciate the effort and i feel that it is a fair trade, although i wouldnt be bothered if usernames arent updated during the game next year. so as long as the workload doesnt end up being taxing, i think that's a change worth keeping.
(i havent had any experience re: people allowed to turn on their lights before being accepted)
i do want to pay a compliment to the mod team for their work! the changes are appreciated, and the work put into keeping everything running is as well

I'm super excited to see myself on featured users! I'm excitedly anticipating many visits, I hope my wrist can keep up!!

I know i haven't been able to comment on every story and story replies, but i love them all. I actually saw pumpkin royalty, and someone was just a pumpkin. They were both so cute and the prompt is all I could think of when i saw the prompt <3

Lsat time i posted i said this was my second year, but it's actually my third! I had messages from 2015 about LOLO, so i assume i did it then! But it's been super exciting to see the outfits, the adorable couples, and the cool stories!
