I have a question for you guys, but it might be tricky. I'm going to state now that everyone means no offence to anyone who ships said pairing, but that we are simply stating why we think a certain pairing wouldnt work. We all must mutually agree to not fight people about their ships: if someone posts their opinion, dont tell them why their theory doesnt work. Keep it friendly. One post per person, to reply to the question. Okay? Okay.

personally, I dont see how Romione {RonxHermione} works
I ship Dramione {DracoxHerm}, and they make sense to me: they are both matched intellectually, both have enough of a fiery temper to put up with the verbal sparring that is sure to come between them... I could go on, but that's not what this is about.

It is my opinion that Romione wouldnt work. Lets face facts: Ron isnt in her academic range. She had to help both Ron and Harry through all their school years. I feel that Herms would need someone that would academically match her.

Hmm, I'm not going to go into details of the who/what/why stuff for more than one, but there are loads of pairings I really don't believe would work. One of them is Yaxley/Hermione. I just can't see it myself and while I have read a pretty great fic which was, in essence, that pairing, Yaxley thought she was Mafalda. I don't much like AUs where Hermione works at the Ministry and starts seeing Yaxley, since I just can't picture them. Sure, I don't even doubt that Yaxley would have inclinations to pretty partners, but Yaxley's always been an old-school pureblood supremacist to me. In my head, no way would he 1. go out with a girl who was potentially smarter than him and 2. want a non-pureblood woman. Plus a lot of the time, Yaxley gets so swayed by his muggleborn lover that he turns traitor to Voldemort. Mm, no, not seeing it I'm afraid! But it's personal choice of course, and that one just doesn't float my boat. (I think this just shows I've read just about every Yaxley fic out there, haha.)

Speaking of fics, has anyone read the fantastic Lucius and Snape centric ones by NotWolf on FF.net? The reading order is on the profile page, but I think they're pretty amazing. =) I'm less keen on the final two parts, mostly because I have a hard time shipping Snape with anyone (it's an OC, so no Snarry or anything, haha). I got recommended them by a friend and ended up sucked right in! They do have mature ratings, just so people are aware.
