Hi! <3 I had a couple questions for LOLO if that's okay!

First - I've been having lots of headaches and migraines. The slightest thing can give me one that will last for days.
So I was wondering if it would be alright if I could put on my profile, like in my interests, asking people not to send me hard-to-read stories? Things like bright-colored text, very small or large font, incredibly long stories, or stories with walls of text/no paragraphs.

I thought I've seen similar statements before, in other years I've played. I wanted to ask just in case though!
It definitely seems like I would be excluding a lot of players, but I value my health too, and I really miss playing LOLO!

It's not completely definite that I will sign up, since I don't know if I can be incredibly active with it in the first place, but I want to at least try I guess!


Second - Is my story below okay? It's pretty short compared to my previous stories. I had to make it easy for myself to read. I feel like some sentences start a little awkwardly. Any advice, if needed, would be lovely!

"Houston, we have a problem," Brandon laughed as he put his helmet on. He took a step back in front of the mirror, checking over his costume.
"I think I look completely out of this world," giving himself a wink for his hilarious comment.

Brandon grabbed his trusty pail and ran out the door, excited to collect his annual treasure. He stood on the sidewalk, taking in the excitement around him. The moon was big and bright, and the sound of laughter and screams filled the air. The neighborhood was decorated for the occasion, with spider webs adorning railings, and jack-o-lanterns providing an eerie, yet comforting glow.

A cool, gentle breeze scattered some leaves across the ground as Brandon began his Halloween journey. Wanting to be in character, Brandon did a spacewalk down the sidewalk. He garnered some strange looks and giggles from other trick-or-treaters, but he was in too good of a mood to notice.

Brandon stopped in front of the first house, tapped the doorbell, and shouted as loud as he could,
"Trick or Treat!"

@Shooting Stars You could put something like that, but unfortunately there's no guarantee that people will actually read or listen to it. And that's not something that we can enforce.

It's worth noting though that there is no requirement for you to actually read everyone's stories! You can totally just skip reading any that fit the criteria you mentioned (or even skip all the stories all together), as long as you still respond to them with a trick or a treat. I promise you wouldn't be the only one who skips reading some or even all the stories they receive, there are definitely other players who do so as well.

Definitely feel free to sign-up even if you're not sure how active you'll be! You can just keep your lights off whenever you don't feel up to receiving and responding to messages, there's no rule about how long or how often you need to turn them on.

You're also allowed to drop out of the game at any point if it becomes too much or you lose interest, all you'd have to do is message one of the thread mods and we can remove you from the player list completely!

The story would be accepted with no problems, it follows everything that we require.

I didn't know you didn't have to read stories, that helps me so much!
I was just planning to trick stories that could upset my head, so I feel so much better about that! I like to give out as many treats as I can ^^

And I definitely wasn't expecting LOLO staff to enforce anything! I truly hope I didn't sound entitled, more important, or like a Karen or something! I promise that wasn't my intention at all!

It definitely looks like it's wearing a full prisoner costume, so that should be fine! If there's more nuance to what you're showing you can always explain the costume in your story. <3

In regards to your question, I have a request to only have large text in my signature when it comes to LOLO (for the same reason, migraines suck). A lot of people are great about reading it and being careful with their font size, but I also have gotten a bunch of stories that were too small to read easily. I almost always trick those people since they couldn't give me the benefit of reading my note and making things easy. It's up to you, though.

And your story sounds good to me. ^_^

Putting this here as a small reminder since I havent reposted it since 2018 <3

Hey, guys. This is kind of just a little issue or I guess problem that I'd kind of like to point out and address since many other LOLO players have been having issues with it as well, and we've conversed on it. A few things have also been pointed out to me to help out with this problem, such as stylish and stylebot but unfortunatly because my computer doubles as a work computer for highschool, university, and work I can't really use those because it throws everything out of whack.

Basically, the problem is just with bright or light colors when it comes to LOLO stories, signature text, and other things. As a person who wears glasses, and already has a hard time reading with them on it get's kind of aggravating and tiring having to strain my eyes even more with my glasses to read bright, light, or small text. Per example,

When I type with text like this, it's easy for me to view even if I am using the 85 font size option! Therefor, I don't have to strain my eyes much and it kind of pops to me, making it a lot easier for me to read things.



However, if I were to type with this font size, I wouldn't be able to see or even comprehend anything because it's so small.
So, I have to strain my eyes and get really close to my monitor to even read these things. Sometimes even highlight things.





The same thing goes for a very bright color like this yellow, that I often see being used in trick-or-treaters signatures. I can't really read this because it's so bright, and it really hurts my eyes. At times, I even have to highlight the text,
or just completely disregard the text.





Colors such as this really light gray are very hard for me to read as well.


I don't want to seem as if I'm complaining or even trying to be rude to some of you who prefer to use bright or light colors for your stories, or even LOLO text. But, please keep those who have problems reading bright or light colors along with small text in mind. Especially those with glasses, or visual impairments.

Also, another thing to keep in mind when using bright and lights colors along with small text as your LOLO indications for Light's On or Light's Off. If people can't read or understand what you've wrote, there's a chance that you won't get as many people popping up at your door to show off their costume. The same thing applies for those using bright or light colors in their stories, if the person you're sending your PM to can't read it the more likely you are to get a trick rather than a treat.
