I managed to get three shiny Squirtles, so I've got one in each different stage of evolution haha. Loads of sunglass Squirtles, but none shiny for those. Also hatched my first Bagon, so that's cool. This was my first time actively participating in community day. I definitely want to go out for it next month too.

So the next community day is gonna be Eevee... The completionist inside of me won't be satisfied unless I get 9 shinies. I doubt that'll be possible.

It is not impossible at all when you have a place with many pokestops and only use the lures after the event started.

I've always caught Pokemon for the whole 3 hours and ended up with of course different amounts but all are okay.

7 pikachu while being in a place not good for hunting
11 bulbasaur
9 Charmander (didn't get any in the first hour, caught most of them in the last 30mins)
10 Squirtle
9 Dratini

I've caught less because people have used their lures in the park too soon and too many normal Pokemon spawned. So the chance for shinies was probably the same but we didn't saw as many Pokemon =w=

Oh wow that's amazing! Yeah last community day I wasn't able to get to any really good spots, but I'll plan ahead for the coming one. I also just remembered that the Eevee CD is going to be on two days, so that should help.

There's just one thing that's gonna suck, maybe. It's entirely possible that we can get like 10 Eevees and they all evolve into Flareon. The randomness of their evolution might be a bit frustrating if we want a shiny for each of it's evolutions. IIRC you can force Eevee to evolve into Umbreon and Espeon by walking it 10k as a buddy and then evolving it in either day or night? Of course I've already used the naming tricks, as I'm sure most other people have, too. Fingers crossed I suppose. ^-^;

Are the 3 hours at the same time all around the world? Cause that doesn't seem fair to most people. If the time I found is right then the event starts here at 9pm which is inconvenient at best. I don't exactly want to hang out in a park at night.

It seems to be a daytime thing for your timezone.. it should in the range of 10am to 5pm for most people (these are the local time when it starts in california to the local time it ends on the east coast)

True. I'll just keep any Shiny Eevees for now, maybe evolve Umbreon/Espeon early, but other than that I'll wait.
Maybe we'll get a new chance to directly evolve Eevee into the evolution we want. Who knows. ^^
