@ corrigan. Very nice foreshortening work! This pose is really dramatic and unique at the same time. I also like how you used shading and color. Very cool!!

@ skipwreck (sorry its a bit of an effort on my part to type your name upside down and backwards XD) I agree with you! That artwork is exciting! The anatomy and poses are really great! The vibrancy of the color is fitting too. The main thing I would change would be the placement and size of the blue ring; it's so small and towards the bottom of the picture that it gets lost. You'd also benefit from more dramatic shading since the sun is so intense and your characters are backlit.

@gwanu That's definitely the type of art that catches my eye - super nice!! The way you drew the wolf is so cool, and I love how it's framed by the trees. Since you requested critique I'll go ahead and let you know where you could improve. The anatomy of the wolf is good but not as accurate as it could be. The eyes and nose are a bit askew, and the body looks kind of lumpy in some places. The crow/bird in the back doesn't really blend in well with everything else and I think you could go into a little more detail there. (I'd still keep it somewhat discreet though, since it's part of the background and not part of your subject.) Some parts of the background, like the thin branches and grass patches, are very well done but other parts are underdeveloped, like the trunks of the trees that seem undetailed and a little out of shape and the foreground space, which could use some more detail and color. Pretty nice though!! <3 I like your style.

@ Fantelle Whoaaaa that is seriously nice. You have captured color and form so well in this, I applaud you! The skin and eyes are just -ahh - breathtaking. But I'm losing some of that shine and texture in the hair. The ears also lack some intricacies that are necessary to match the complexity of the rest of him. But seriously though - that face!! those eyes!! the lips!! AHHH!! Where did you learn that technique? Those elements are so masterfully painted!!! If you can't tell, I'm really excited about your style. XD

For me it's very easy o-o
The key is to save in .png and that your background layer isn't white, as in there is no colour. If you could give me a screenshot of what it looks like when you start a new file in sai, so like the whole screen I'd be able to give you better advice, if this doesn't work.

When saving it as a .png, on SAI normally a box will come up with two options- 24something something and 32something something (been a while since I used SAI, don't have it on my computer right now to check the exact wording), check the 32 something something and make sure the background is clear (SAI doesn't have the transparent checkerboard, but as long as you didn't fill in the base layer with something, it should be transparent, only the stuff you drew should be there). You have to check the 32 to make it transparent, the 24 will not make it transparent.

Also, certain older versions of SAI do not have this option- they can't save transparent. Make sure you have a newer updated version of SAI that does.

@gwanu - i don't have a specific art piece right now that i want to make transparent, but in the past i've wanted too and tried, and i'm sure in this'll happen in the future. thank you though! also that's essentially what i did/do but for some reason it never worked.

@EmberWolf - that's the step in every tutorial i couldn't get passed, but i think it's because i have an older version of SAI because that doesn't pop up. and i think that's why i'm not able to do it. i probably need to download a newer version.

thanks the both of you. <3

@Emberwolf That's really useful o3o

I am having trouble animating, I know HOW to animate, but I need a really easy cat style to draw with :(

The cats I draw is impossible to animate with! Can someone give me a style?

I like simple and easy stuff ^^ The animation should take of that there is no big details or shading :3

thank you ^^

@SolarDæmon

Wow, I absolutely love that picture :o I like how it looks like a painting, with all the different shades in it. I'm not very good at giving critique, so I can't really help with that, but I do really like the picture. c:

This probably isn't the kind of thing I'd normally post here but I thought I'd share anyway to make people laugh.

I removed my dragon's legs and wings and made it into a Viking ship xD The original dragon is in my signature. I'm really happy with the bits I had to draw in, and I can hardly tell I had to draw it in! :)

Some of the older versions of Sai don't allow you to save with a transparent background. If that's the case, the easiest thing to do is save your image as a PSD and open it in another program to save it there. Before I bought Sai, I had an older version installed on my computer, so I used Pixlr to save my transparent pictures. Make sure to merge your layers first if you're using any special layer modes, since some programs handle them differently than Sai does, and it could mess things up.

@Acethekid UGH I WISH I COULD SHADE LIKE THAT >:T
The shoulders are a bit too small, and I think one is lower than the other. I wish I could do a redline but I'm on my aunt's computer.

I really need help with hair, I think my technique is off. Can anyone link some refs or tutorials?
