    @KogasBabyGirl,
    that's so cool! I especially like the shadow silhouette on the wall and the colouring on the wing c:
    perhaps the sky could be a few more shades and the clouds could have a bit more depth to them?
    not sure if you want to use it or have already seen it, but this is a tutorial on clouds that I've found
    very helpful! it offers ideas on how to shade clouds at various times of the day ^^

    @carrie911,
    wow! I love how you did the hair! it looks so flow-y and soft ovo
    I like the soft colouring, and the background is very pretty.

    @notifyneelix,
    ooh, that seems like a really nice art program! I always go for the ones with lots of brushes,
    so i'll definitely be looking into that.
you did well, kim jonghyun (040890 — 121817)

@Crazyclaw+

Don't worry, I'm not that good at backgrounds either ;v;

But yours looks amazing! I learned in the past that the farther away an object is, the more 'fadier' and less bright colours you can see of the object, so I it's alright if it looks like a painting ^-^ The main attention of the viewer would be the two characters on the foreground. I don't usually do fullbody pictures but even I do, I always draw a more simpler background. The only 'legit' type of background I draw are clouds ;v; I can't draw anything else.

This is totally up to you but one suggestion that I would make would be to maybe add the sky? Sorry, I thought it might look a bit livelier but it's totally up to you ^-^ If you want that kind of forest feeling, then it looks perfectly fine :D

-------------------------

@KogasBabyGirl

Like the previous paragraph (above), I really like how you made sure the foreground was more/the most visible and that the background isn't taking up too much attention of the viewer ^-^
However, one suggestion would be to make the clouds more... fluffly ;-; (I have this love for fluffly things) or something that would make the image more mysterious in a way... But again, that's totally up to you :D
I personally draw clouds like this, a more puffy kind of style, but that's up to you ^-^

Overall, it's beautiful!

-------------------------

@notifyneelix

Ah, I've seen that program on instagram before... It's really cool how they have different brush settings and it looks really cool! It would be really handy for scenery especially *-*

I would buy it, but I can't ;v; Every time I download something on my computer, there's always a virus TT-TT

But thank you for posting the program! :D
Perhaps I'll buy it when I get a new computer *v*

---------------------------

Image
I drew this a while ago... but it's one of my first pixel artworks I've created ;v;

I sort of stopped after I finished this one ;-; But it would be nice to get some critiques on it ;v;

Thank you TTvTT

Thank you guys so much! I'll give PTS and the Bamboo Wacom Tablet a try! Also, those references are really nice!

I need some help with this...
Image
the color went all weird in the chest area. The muzzle and chin also look wrong...

@paluumin It's lovely! you should totally keep doing them! All I can say is the shading in the hair, it doesn't look like the shadows are supposed to be where they are. Also the tail doesn't look like a tail really.

notifyneelix wrote:Also! I wanted to share with you guys this program I found. Or rather, my friend Shire found it and linked me to it. It's a new digital painting program called Paintstorm Studio. Like... it just came out early this year, so it has a few issues but so far everything seems to be developing quickly and the brush engine is great. I have no doubt that given enough time it'll even greater than it already is. Also I love all the textures you can get in it. ANYWAYS. It's not free, but at the moment it's only 20 USD. which is amazingly cheap?

And I'm not like... affiliated with the program at all, btw, I just really like it and wanted to share it with any interested parties x3

I have two paintstorm ad accounts following me on ista, and they can be pretty annoying at times...I'll stick with gimp at the moment!

For this you may want to blend a bit more, so using more inbetween colours on the chest, and for the muzzle the shape of the W part is to narrow, have a look on google for some ideas! :)

Basically I have no idea about background and how you go about them. the back ground I need is a forest. http://monotsleigh.deviantart.com/art/F ... 1433086172

This is a rough guide, the pink lines, if you can see any are the lines to do with vanishing points... the fence I'm completely happy with, I just have no clue how to go about drawing a forest in any way! Thanks for helping! :)

@ carrie911
super cute & nice colors! her head is a bit big tho,and her arm closest to us is a bit too thin around the elbow area,otherwise p good!

@Juvia Lockser
Image
i hate drawing front view cats so this isnt 100% accurate but its good enough! honestly i would just simplify the face with a little :3 face because domestic cats have very sloped faces
i would also highly advise against shading with gray,which im assuming you did? it really tends to make colors appear messy/muddy!

@meowool

doodled up a few trees/forest environment ! depending on the forest it is,its either ok accurate or NAH accurate. a lot of forests are dark & foggy tho haha

@ SteamRunner

Thanks soo much! And no, I wasn't shading with gray. I used an extra laver with low opacity and then used black. Then I used the smudge tool.

I don't have any comments on shading (that would take too long) but I do have a thing for cats, so I thought I'd do a quick redline too ouo

Image

Basically, for me, the key to cats is understanding the underlying shapes of their anatomy. This helps me a lot. I'm not an expert or anything, and I'm still learning, but when you can learn how to look at the shapes, it can be much easier to draw something that's more anatomically correct. A quick way to practice this is to trace photos (that you have permission to use) to try and get a feel for their shapes. But be aware that this tracing is only for practice and getting shapes down, not for creating full pictures. You probably don't even need to post these anywhere, they're just for practice and understanding how cats work as far as shapes go.
