What kind of Pokemon have you guys been encountering for the mini encounter prizes? I got Camerupt twice. IDK if that's all anyone is getting? Haven't hit up any of the forums or subreddits in a while so I'm pretty out of the loop.

oh no I've been getting all kinds of different things. I think doduo has been the most common for me so far.

Ah that's nice to know! I think I actually meant Numel and not Camerupt haha. Got the evo's confused. It's great that it seems like the encounter could be anything. IDK what I'd do with a buncha camels in my inventory.

I played when it first came out (like 2 yrs ago now????) but it's been so long, and i'm surprised at the difference!

Check out the little binocular icon by your map. It gives you tasks to do, and those tasks give prizes.

You can spin Gyms like Pokestops now. Just go to the disc icon on the Gym's main screen and you can spin it.

For raids you'll want to have some high CP Pokemon, and see if the place you live in (city or town) has a local whatsapp or facebook group. That way you can easily see if there are any groups forming to do a certain raid and you can try to join in.

To join a raid you need a raid pass. You get one free raid pass every day from spinning a gym. They don't stack though, so if you still have your free one from a day ago and you spin a gym, you won't get a second one. You have to use your free one to get a new free one the next day.

You can take down smaller raid bosses by yourself if you have good Pokemon, but for the legendaries and generally better Pokemon you'll need to be in a group of people, with high CP Pokemon.

There's a bunch of new costumes for your character. Some you have to pay for with the in-game currency, but there's some new free stuff too.

Otherwise just go out and about like you used to when you played at the beginning. There's two more generations of Pokemon added, and you can catch shinies too, if you're lucky.

You can also check out the news/announcements icon in the game menu to see what all the updates and events have been to catch up quickly.

I've forgotten, but does your egg distance decrease when walking, even without using the app? Or do you have to have it on/or the braclet thing?

The game has to be on, for the eggs/buddies to record any distance. I don't have the bracelet so I'm not sure how that works.

You need to have the app open, yeah. You can lock your phone and leave it in your bag/pocket/whatever if you've got the Go Plus connected, but otherwise you need to keep it open and unlocked unfortunately. Huge battery killer haha.

yeah, it would be a huge game-changer if it just connected to the pedometer regardless if the game is on or not.

In other news, I just advanced to a new step in the special research, and the tasks are painful.

- Catch a Ditto, havent seen one in months
- Make 20 great throws, ok this one isn't that bad
- Catch 10 ghost pokemon, which are super uncommon in my currect area.

I mean I get that they are supposed to get harder and harder for such a big reward as a mew, but o o f. This one is gonna take a while.

Also, is anyone else getting network/gps issues today? This hasn't been a problem for me before, but I keep getting some kind of error every couple minutes and its super annoying.
