    @winter Ahh thank you <3
    And thanks for those tips... Siiiigh I've only really tried on like. Three. Or so. Backgrounds. Ever. So I'm still trying to get the hang of the whole 3-dimensional plane thing. I did tryyyyyyy to make the tiles dimensional [I was like OH lines thisll be easy I can do lines] but lines are a lot harder than they sound...
    And the black on the floor was actually meant to be shadow, not anything see-through ^-^
    As for the pillar I was already done by the time I realized it was perfectly straight and I was kinda like... siiigh... oh well
    [I have an issue with remembering that everything isn't perfectly vertical and horizontal]
    And most of those clothes were meant to look very stiff, though admittedly most the wrinkles I did didn't end up too well...
    I was really hoping to get like a metallic gold wave to her dress buuuuut I had no idea how to even start so I just kinda... ended up with that xD
    but thank you for the feedback! I'll keep it in mind
    and I'll definitely be playing around more with stained glass windows...

You mean these black bars are suppose to be shadows..? (Just wondering since I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing lol)
Image
even if the clothing are suppose to be stiff, there probably needs to be some folds to indicate that it's hugging around a figure. Even if it was a stiff material over a box or other hard places, when the material hugs the surface and falls down, there still would be folds ^^

    The ones on the floor, yes c: Because the black on the windows are iron bars, so I figured they would cast shadows, but... Like I said, never really tried to do anything like that before x]
    and yessss I will work on that...
    Making clothes seem less stiff is definitely on my to-do list xD

I'm thinking of getting Wacom Intuos...
Thanks in advance, I'll really appreciate any answers I'll get!

1) I personally use the wacom intuos pen tablet and it's my first pen tablet :) I used to draw with mouse. My friends recommended it to me because they said that Bamboo crashes a lot and it would be actually worth it to buy an intuos pen tablet.

2) I've found a problem in my computer that whenever I download ANYTHING, there's always a virus. But I use paint tool sai because many of my favourite artists use that program and I actually know how to use it :D

3) Well, I didn't have much trouble... I've always had a steady hand so when I started drawing with mouse, it was a bit shaky but I still got the hang of it ^-^

4) All it took was inspiration and finding my art style. In other words, anime. After discovering what 'anime' really was, I felt so inspired and I just had to continue drawing. I searched up a lot of tutorials and I guess it's just a matter of time. You improve everyday! ^-^

5) I'm not the expert when it comes to tips, for every artist has their own style and way of drawing. However if I could give one tip, it would be to keep drawing and look at others for inspiration. Finding other great artists and trying their style (not tracing, trying) can help you explore the different genres of art and help you find your own style :)

Have you guys ever had the problem when you just can't flat colour? I'm currently struggling with colouring ;v;

When I started digital art, I always put a lot of effort and detail and now I'm finding it hard to keep up...

So I tried to flat colour... BUT IT'S NOT WORKING ;A; Whenever I shade or colour, I have to put detail and extra shading ;-;
Did you guys have this problem? How did you fix it? ;A;

\Another question: I'm planning to buy a digital art tablet for some time, so I'm wondering:

1) What brands/models do you use?
I use my Wacom Indous Pro Medium, I used my Wacom Bamboo Fun (It is a really nice starting/beginner tablet) but over the many years I had it my wire broke. So I just bought the Indous witch is nice because it is wireless.

2) What software/s do you use?
Drawling Software, I use Paint Tool SAI, hope one day to get photoshop for maybe other things.

3) What difficulties did you have in transitioning from traditional to digital, or from using the hardware/software?
Well I had to learn how SAI works and what does what, It is pretty hard learning how to use my tablet. Because I was never use to doing something like that, but over time I just got use to doing it.

4) How long did it take you to learn the basics and/or master other advanced techniques?
Pretty long, practice makes improvement. It took me only near the middle and end of last year when I actually started drawling decent stuff now, then I did back then.

5) Any tips? hehe
Make sure it fits your budget (not saying that I know anything in you money situation), just thought I should bring it up. I would suggest something like the a Bamboo for starter, but if you really want to get a Intuos be my guest, what ever floats your boat.

I'm thinking of getting Wacom Intuos...
Thanks in advance, I'll really appreciate any answers I'll get!

heya !! sorry for the bad quality, but i would absolutely love a redline on the backlegs? she's supposed to be jumping but hhhhh

captain;; it's beautiful !! the progress is absolutely amazing, omg, it's so inspiring !! i would suggest more clothing folds, and perhaps find a texture to lightly lay over it? the stained glass looks nice, but perhaps make it a bit less opaque? it would look a bit more like a reflection if the lines weren't so dark, in my opinion. but oh, it looks great !!

i use a huion, it's inexpensive and i honestly love it.
i use firealpaca, again inexpensive.
hhhhh figuring out how to use my tablet was such a struggle.
idk man, i'm still learning<3

paluumin;;
oh man, i feel you. i haven't flat coloured anything in forever. if you've only been shading and lighting for a while, it may look odd without the extra details, but that's probably only to you. just try to appreciate simple flats that you've drawn, because flats really don't look as weird as you think<3

      @notifyneelix, @Geinkotsu, @ u ı ɐ ʇ d ɐ ɔ, @winter & fireflii, @Paluumin. @SteamRunner, @capone (and I hope I didn't skip anyone)
      Thank you so much! I was mainly thinking if there was any significant differences between brands and softwares and such, but it appears to depend on the artist and their skill anyway. Thank you, this helped me a lot!

      Also I recently started using deviantart yesterday and I have 0 everything...
      I'm wondering if someone could please pm me (or tell me if I can pm you?) and I would love some new friends/watchers and someone who can help me navigate dA. c: I'd love anyone's help!

      @capone.: it looks cute! unfortunately I don't redline and I'm not good at animals, so I don't want to give faulty advice...

      And I would also love any critique on something I recently made: here

Just a quick note on the Intuos 5/Pro?
I had a horrible experience with mine- it broke within its two year warranty and I had to send it in for repairs and not even a year after that it started having issues again. I work with my extremely reliable intuos 3 for casual projects and use my cintiq 13HD for more serious work. (Though the color/brightness display on the cintiq 13HD is not the best tbh)

That's weird kami :U
Been using mine for several years now... maybe like... 3~4 years?
Always a pleasure working with mine ovo Another reason why I don't really feel the need of getting a cintiq for college.
Only problem I ever had was when I washed my pen under running water like an idiot lol
but warranty covered for it thank god

Yeah it had like major issues with the cable? The cable itself broke, some cable-related thing inside the tablet dislodged itself, and now I don't even know what's wrong with it but it becomes unresponsive every so often and I have to disconnect and reconnect the cable- Idk if its a cable problem or just the tablet LOL But I hate my intuos 5...

LOL omg I remember that you idiot
