Does anyone know any good tree tutorials that would apply to Chibipaint (like the tools)?

ughughuugh theres this one commission ive been putting off for like over a month now... its not even anything difficult, just a flat color of a pretty fun-looking character (to draw, i mean.) ive been so depressed and stressed out and ive just had no motivation or energy to work on it and i feel terrible, but the commissioner hasnt messaged me about it so i guess its ok... (i just messaged them apologizing for the delay as well.) they prepaid for like 5 pieces with a UR bengal back when it first came out so i feel a whole lot worse about it ;w; can someone give me some reassurance and maybe tell me im not awful

@meowool I agree with Sabu on your prices- not to say your art isn't worth it of course. But to be competitive in the art market, you should look at other artists' prices to place yourself skill-wise and price-wise C: In addition, it's best to have all your examples laid out before you open commissions. It looks more professional, and people can clearly see what they're ordering. Without examples, they might not order because they don't know what they're buying. C: Draw some personal art to use as examples!

@Sabu Yaaas lineless
This is the road of no return, prepare yourself
I have practically forgotten how to line it becomes so inconvenient once you start painting LOL
You did a good job of making all the parts of the figure distinct through color contrast
AKA making lines with color
The next step from here is probably to experiment with shading and blending
See if you can give the body depth by visualizing 3D planes and bringing those out with lights and shadows!
Pay attention to changes in color and try to control whether they have a "hard" or "soft" blend
(hard blends having less between colors in your blending, and soft blends being more seamless)
I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR FUTURE WORK

@fright haha no worries
once I took a year+ to finish a commission
they were really happy with it since I improved a lot in that year so.... LOL
YOU'RE FINE.

Ahaha dsjalks
I want to show you guys the stuff I'm working on???
But it's too late in the game for me to fix anything fjasklfjal
LOL if you have something to say about them you are still welcome to though ;u;
I'll keep it in mind for next time

I CAN ONLY SHOW YOU TINY IMAGES SINCE I HAVEN'T OFFICIALLY UPLOADED THEM
All bg's by Tsukiko-pyon (CS) and Tsukiko on dA, all figures by me!

Why am I just finding this ? ;w;

Hai everyone c: I'm just gonna jump on the artist army train ouo
Since there is no form or anything, I'll tell you a little about myself ;w;

I'm Wings _ Of _ Freedom , I mostly sketch out Manga and Anime characters of my own and sometimes horses or wolves. I like to gift art from time to time and I like to roleplay.
I have a strange addiction to making new characters ;w; ( Right now I think I have over 14 /?? / I'll count them all later cx )
I like giving helpful tips and sometimes on my own stream I'll help on how to draw ( if requested, then I will for sure c: )
I know I'm not the best artist, so I enjoy helpful tips, tricks, and even tutorials c:
I have a DA and Paigee World account, but I only post mainly 25% ( Or what I feel is 25% ) of my art.
Aside from my art, I like to read, write, and sing. A lot of times you can find me at a local library, book store, a local mall, or even at a local cosplay convention (mhm, I like to cosplay to c: )

Hey, long time no see! (I swear, I say this every time I come to this thread xD I need to come here more often, pfft.)

@Sabu: Wow, that looks great! I used to do pixel art a lot, but I've since lost patience for it xD it just takes forever. In any case, the only thing I'd mention is cleaning up your linework a little more. It's kind of one of those 'learn the rules so you know when to break them' things. If it's a stylistic choice, go for it. But generally, with pixel linearts, there aren't pixels directly touching each other. Like that pixel line tutorial by Griffsnuff. ^^ It's handy to have pixels touching each other in the lines for stuff like fur detail, though, but it's more selective. ^^

The shading does look great though, and overall it's fantastic! ouo I'm not realizing that this was all already said, but, whatever x3

ALSO, that chibi lineless style is absolutely adorable. Lineless can be really hard (at least, I think that type of lineless is hard xD) but you pull it off really well!

@meowool: Everything looks to be in order to me. ^^ Good luck with your commissions!

@Japanese: Not that I know of. Except for this and this, which are just a general oekaki tutorials. If you do a search in the oekaki boards for tutorials you might be able to find something. ouo

@Fright: I totally understand. I'm a horrible procrastinator. I suggest keeping your commissioner in the loop, letting them know what's going on. They should understand. Which now that I'm reading your full post, you've already done x3 You aren't awful at all, and in the long run, the drawing might be better for the wait because you'll have improved, like Akami-chan said x3

@Akami-chan: oh my gosh talking about not being able to line once you start painting, I can relate so much. Lining, oh my word I feel like I can't line for the life of me. I have a more painterly style of lineless work than Sabu, but yeah, it's like... past the point of no return xD

AND ALSO THOSE ARE FANTASTIC. Great collaborations, your figures fit in perfectly with the backgrounds and it's just all so soft and pretty. I love the feeling from them. dshsgs can I just say, I love your style? And the artist who did the background, too. dsfd.

@Wings _ Of _ Freedom: Welcome to the Artist Army! I'm not super active here, so I'm not sure if I can really do that properly, or whatever, but I hope you have a fantastic time here and find everything you need x3

Nowww. To show what I've been up to lately! I've been super excited, I got some new traditional art supplies recently and so I've been experimenting with that. Haven't really made anything worth showing with that yet, but anyways x3

I've been developing a new chibi style, which so far I'm really happy with:

Image Image

Annnnd I did a lighting/photo study yesterday that I'm super proud of. Basically freehand copying of a photo I took, I hope it's alright to post here, since it's a drawing. If not, I'm more than willing to take it down, just let me know.

Image

Critique is more than welcome, though I won't be changing anything on finished pictures. I'll try to keep things in mind though for future drawings, however.

And here's where I end my gigantic post xD sorry about that, I didn't mean for it to get this long x3
... hey I'm Neel! I'm a preschool teacher by day

@sabu&amiki-chan I really wouldn't like to lower my prices as they are already below min. wage prices for the age bracket that I'm in for the UK! Stash is like a place people can only see if you give them the link, so there will be full examples in the future...my drawing just didn't want to go through email that night, and I will draw some more examples, I would only place it on dA once it is fully laid out with all the drawings on it! :)

Thanks for everyone's input!!

@meowool Of course, it's important to consider the "wage" aspect of it, do what you think is right ^^
I'm not familiar with european economy/art sales, but those prices may be a bit high for a US market.

@notifyneelix Aaah thank you ;-; !
We are so stressed to finish these up in the next day LOL
Your photo study is gorgeous, I love the colors and the texture <3
Your chibis are cute too!, especially the second piece which seems to have a similar warmness and texture as your photo study!
A critique for the first chibi piece would be to work on the interaction of figure and environment
Right now the figures don't have much weight (HAHA CAUSE LINES RIGHT?)
So they look like they're just floating on the grass
You can probably anchor them with shadows or variation in line weight C:

    Hi! I'd be happy to join in here, although I'm a little bit (very) late.
    My name is Elle and I've been drawing seriously for maybe three years, so I'm still fairly new to art. I study a
    very demanding science mathematics line at school and have not been able to find much time for my art lately.

    Here's my comfort zone, portraits. I'm working hard to get more comfortable with fullbodies.
    ImageImageImage

    To do that, I've been studying the human body. Piece by piece I'm getting there, and so here are
    my latest hand studies. I do think that I sense an improvement from the first to the last batch.

Wow I love the hands! If I ever draw people again, I definetly will use those as references if that's alright, I could never draw hand so I always hid them in my drawings!! I think the difference I can see is that there are a lot more curves than straight lines and boxes! I love how you paint the skin as well, reminds me of water colours! :)

http://monotsleigh.deviantart.com/art/t ... -527473861 - the first fox I've drawn, can anyone give me some pointers?? I'm not too sure on the body still..I drew them sitting down because I would have probably drawn them very cat like!

I love the fox meowool, it's very good, I love the expression and how you made the paw look so dainty, its not the most realistic style, but is definitely adorable.
The only 'tip' or what I would do, is make the tail fluffier,but thats my opinion,
EDIT
Just whipped this up, looking for general critique, I tried my hand at shading, don't know if you can tell(Ignore sucky background)
