I'm so happy. Because of my obsession with TLK I am learning how to speak Swahili. So many names from TLK are words for the species or their animal and such.

translation:
kovu= scar
simba= lion
rafiki= friend
pumbaa= warthog

really? I didn't even realize that one what creative names XD but I have to admit that they are very pretty names. I would have absouloutly loved it if there was a lion named Duma(even though it mean Cheetah), I adore that word! ANd then giraffe too, awesome times 10.

Duma would be a cute name for a character. :D I would love it if there was a spin off movie for cheetahs and one was named Duma. o3o

There is a movie called Duma about a cheetah named Duma, but it has nothing to do with the Lion King.

But I agree, Duma would be a good name for a lion. And so would Chui ('leopard').
