Tug would shake his mane
or snort. Perhaps say, Humans
are rather strange. But what
do I know? I'm a horse, or
something along those lines.
Abelard...he might respond with
a horsey shrug.
Theme Songs...Hmmm.
Will: Heart of Courage by Two Steps From Hell (Album: Invincible)
-This is an instrumental song; I was having a hard time finding one with
good words that summed him up. I thought briefly about Hero, by Skillet,
but that was only good for the first book, I thought, when he was feeling
inadequate but fought anyway. This really struck a cord for me, and despite
the lack of words, I think it fits him perfectly, describing everything he's
faced and had the courage to do, from being a Ranger to fighting with the
Skandians against the Temujai.
Halt: Dragon Rider by Two Steps From Hell (Album: Dynasty / Archangel)
-Again, a wordless song from TSFH, I think this upbeat,
kind of fight song sums Halt up rather well. It shows his
fighting spirit, and his love for the energetic people like
Will. The more metallic bars in parts of the song goes along
with the danger he was in in Halt's Peril, book nine.
Horace: One X by Three Days Grace (Album: One X)
-This song, I think, perfectly describes the world which Horace lives.
He's a warrior, he and Will do what they can to save the world; they
get knocked down, they get back up, and they'll always keep fighting.
Cassandra: What I've Overcome by Fireflight (Album: For Those Who Wait)
-Reading the scene from book seven, Erak's Ransom, in which Cassandra is arguing with her
father over whether or not she should act like a lady and give up practicing with her sling, I
remembered that Cass has done a lot of things; her argument is this: "Dad, think about my
life so far. I've been pursued by Wargals in Celtica. My escorts were killed and I barely escaped
with my life. Then I was captured by Morgarath's army. I was dragged off to Skandia, where l
had to survive in the mountains. I could have starved there. After that, I was involved in a
full-scale battle..." This all brought me to think about What I've Overcome...All the things
Cassy has done, all the lessons she's learned...
Alyss: Life To Die For by Treat (Album: Coup de Grace)
-This simply describes how Will has saved her and helped
Alyss through hard times; how she's come away from a life
as an orphan and gotten, somehow, a life to die for.
Erak: Roar by Treat (Album: Coup de Grace)
-'Ready to roar, ready to rock'. 'Nuff said. I actually thought
about this song for Halt, Will, or Horace, on account of their
high fighting-warrior spirit, but thought it fit Erak a bit better.
Morgarath:Viva la Vida by Coldplay (Album: Viva la Vida)
-I just had to do this guy, and Viva la Vida describes very well how
Morgarath fell (again), and just his...evilness, I guess.
'One riot, one Ranger.'
