I can closet cosplay sadness from inside out, as I found my white sweater today, (it's not perfect, so I keep looking in nearby thrift stores. hoping to find something better, but the con in intend to wear it to is not until next year anyway so I have time)

Still working on trying to get a blazer for honey.

Still have to make patterns for lapis and galashy

also considering adding captain amelia, kida, fem milo and vanellope to my list of cosplays to do.
Fem Milo and Vanellope for the most part are really casual cosplays.

I'm currently working on a Finn Fish cosplay from Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne (Phantom Thief Jeanne) and I've got most of the materials but I was wondering what I should use for the jewels on her forehead and wings? I'm not too concerned about the gold borders around them (I've got something for that) but I don't know where to get rhinestones/gems that big. Any suggestions?

You might have to make/cast your own.
I'm probably gonna have to do that for my lapis costume

Where can I find good quality wigs at a good price? Where do you buy yours?

Also, any tips for a first time cosplayer? ;w;

I've bought most of my wigs off of ebay.
My most expensive ones cost me around $30 my cheapest was $11,

First time cosplayers
start with a simple, more casual costumes, it will probably be easier to find pieces in your wardrobe already or second hand stores. (or find stuff that could work with a little modification)
Ebay, thrift stores and dollar stores are FRIENDS, especially if you are on a budget. (because cosplay isn't a cheap hobby)

When you are ready to up your game, invest in a good sewing machine. (and a mannequin too if possible, - it makes making patterns easier)

Thank you! ^_^ I have another question, what's a good binder? What should I be looking for?
Because all of the potential characters I'm trying to decide on cosplaying are male.

Do you know what the wig is made out of?

The best thing is to wash it with wig shampoo or with a very gentle shampoo like maybe baby shampoo and comb through it with your fingers while you shampoo it

Then you hang it up somewhere and let it air dry, dont use a towel or anything just let all the water drip down, and then you get a very wide toothed comb (like honestly the widest you can find or else it will pull the hair our of the wog) and then you comb it in sections

But if it was a really cheap wig then the water and shampoo could mess up the fibres :/

I've used this method before

The thing is it'll never really go back to looking like new if it's very badly tangled. But if the tangles are moderate it should come out looking okay again

Ok thanks for the advice and if I remember correctly it cost about £12 so it should be ok to wash then right?
