the muzzle is sloped a bit too harsh in that angle, so thickening it up a bit might cover that up. The eyes are a bit too sloped also.
From your defined sketch; the tail is a bit too long, since it should only reach to the heel of the back leg if it's in a resting pose. If it's curved, it should logically look more shorter then how it is normally. It would help the critics a lot if you showed us the reference picture that you used. And like you said, the ears being toned down, muzzle getting thicker, the body becoming more built is basically what the sketch needed for it to look a bit better then before. I mean, we are doing our best to point out even the smallest mistakes so that we can help others improve.
I'll fix the muzzle now, I actually started to notice it was a bit off. The sloping eyes are sort of my style, though. I draw very narrow, sloped eyes with small pupils. I don't go for realism with them. Unless you mean something else?
As for the tail, it's supposed to be pretty darned long. It's not my design, I'm trying to adopt it. But I can make that smaller as well, sure.
But I don't see a big problem with the ears? They just sloped down in her redline some, that's all. It doesn't seem like some major error? And the thing that concerned me about the muzzle is that it was a bit too thick. Border Collies don't have super thick chins in their muzzles. They're sort of slender.
But I guess I'll stop here.
And Ninth, I know people are trying to help. You can't understand tone over the computer, and I'm not at all trying to be rude. But something looks off, and even the best of artists can give false advice.
Anyways, I'll check out.
