That's cute Ciriun c:
I can't pick the light source you have used for the shading though. The face and left arm look like they are lit from the left side while the right arm, belly and legs are lit from the light side. When shading you should always keep your light source in mind. It's not for humans, but there's a tutorial here that you might find helpful: http://tamberella.deviantart.com/art/Gi ... -251104611
Apart from that I think she looks pretty good, I don't know much about human anatomy though so maybe someone with more experience there can help ^.^

*facepalm* Thank you, Solloby. 99% of the time I put my light source in the upper right, but for this one I tried to put in the upper left and apparently forgot halfway down.

Hey guys, I am revamping my created dog breed the Mallardi Shepherd and I would love some opinions! C: These guys are large dogs bred in Norway, and originally developed for herding and the protection of livestock. However, they are extremely versatile dogs and can excel in various other sports such as schutzhund(or other protection sports) or retrieving. These guys are fully made by me and are a closed breed, so you may not make your own or use any aspect of the breed. C; Please keep in mind that paws are my weakness, so don't judge me too harshly for how they look.
I also would love suggestions for other poses to draw them in as references so that people can better understand their anatomy. <3

carrie911: That is actually a really neat hoodie design, very nice job!

SolarDaemon: I really love your style, though I'm pretty bad at critique. XP The mane seems to blend a bit much with everything else, making almost look just like one large mass. Maybe shading the mane a bit differently to make it look more like fur?
I really know nothing about squirrel anatomy, but the hind legs look a bit off to me, so I would suggest maybe working on those? That is a really cute piece though!

meowool: I am terrible with cat anatomy, but everything seems rather too blocky to me, maybe make the edges rounder and less sharp? The legs and such also seem too stiff to me, so I would suggest trying to make your limbs and poses look more fluid and less stiff.(:

Ciriun: I'm afraid I can't help you with a redline, but I think you should make the nose a bit more pronounced. CX I can barely see it now and just to me it seems a bit bizarre because of that. XD

AcetheKidd: That's a cute species, but I think you should maybe add a few examples of the actual designs they can have?

You already caught the head being small, but I think the paws on the second cat might be a little too small as well. And the first cat looks a bit long to me, but I live with the little teapot of cats; short and stout. :P

Cats paws are pretty short as it is just their toes really...But I'll have a little look at it today

I was trying to make the bottom cats masculine-looking...although I might have gone over board with all the angles there!! This isn't in the picture but the second cat is being a bridge for the other cat over a canyon

hey guys, I have a question about selling art on dA... I tried googling but couldn't find anything helpful on this issue, so I was hoping somewhere here knows

if you sell a character on deviantart, is there a certain process you have to go through to ensure that a deal goes through? or can you just like... link someone to your paypal so they can send a payment?

I'm asking because I'm thinking about selling some characters for USD, which isn't allowed on CS, but I don't know how to go about doing it on dA. like I don't know if there's some kind of process you have to go through to ensure integrity, or if it's just based on trust... ?

I am not sure if you were meaning to do this... but the hair seems very choppy... but amazing job on both of those, they are far beyond my abilities

Please take a look at these and redline, or just give me feedback/critique

I have no idea how to draw ponies, so I'll stand out from that one. The clothing choices are cute, I especially like the pajamas one. Adorable! The shorts on the second outfit doesn't really remind me of your typical shorts, but that might be because I'm used to solid-coloured shorts in blue or black. Otherwise I think they're cute. :)

shining armor. wrote:@4dogowner the legs on the first one seem a bit short in my opinion, but other than that they look great! Nice dog breed.

I'd like some critique on my anatomy (yeah I know the eye is large but it's kinda my style) and perhaps a redline?

I could not view your picture. If you have it uploaded somewhere else and I get the link I'd be more than happy to give you some critique!

Bird realism WIP
Shaded wolf pup
Flat-coloured feline

The first is just a WIP, and you can't see the entire thing. I'd like to hear what people think of what they see so far, though!
The second is a character which belongs to Mortikat, and the last is my own character. I'm mainly looking for critique on anatomy on these, but you can comment other things as well! The shading on the second as an example, or otherwise.

Hopefully I commented enough to post my own art. I don't have time to give more feedback.

I'd like to post a reminder of the rules of the thread:
If there is a drawing within 10 posts of your own then you must give the artist feedback before posting your own art.

Lately hardly anyone is following this rule. It is not to comment on one or two people- it is to comment on every person in the past ten pages.

SolarDæmon// On the lion, the shading seems a little bit flat. I think instead of shading with dull colors, on a picture like this, shading with a dark pink would really make the lion pop. Also, I think straight cel-shading doesn't fit too well with the background; I think smoother shading would look more cohesive. On the squirrels, the shading is again a little flat. The texturing is nice, but shading with a less desaturated color might look better.

meowool// Depending on the style you were going for, the proportions are a little off. In the first one, the cat's midsection near the chest is a little too small. The thighs are a little too big. For the tail, remember that it should be coming from the cat's back- not it's butt. Also, the paws are too big, and the legs are too thin. For the second one, the head and neck area are too small. The legs are a little too thin again, but not much else is off.

Ciriun// The lack of a nose is the first thing that I noticed. Even if you're going for a chibi, I'd definitely add a small nose. Her face also seems a little too short. Her torso also looks a little too short to me. Also, I would add her bellybutton.

AcetheKidd// If you are not able to give others feedback, it's rude to still expect feedback regardless. For your design, it's not personally something that interests me. I'm not a fan of the color combination, and the design is a little too plain for my tastes.

4dogowner// I like how your lines look. For the first one: The nose and eye seem a little small. Also, the muzzle looks a little bit too rounded, and I think we should be able to see a few teeth. The paw shape/anatomy looks fine to me, but they look a little too big. For the second one: The upper jaw seems to be a little too big and doesn't quite match where the lower jaw is. The eyes also look a little too small, and seem a little too close together/high up. The chest shape and fur looks fantastic.

Yunyi// Nice avatar ;3 And as far as I know, there's no special process. I believe it's just up to you. If I were you, I'd ask for payment sent after getting the sketch approved, or even right after you accept their commission. If you don't, there's no telling whether you'll get paid or not.

Salaya// Here's a quick redline. Did you use an undersketch? If not, I would recommend it. Also, turning on smoothing might make it easier. Overall I'd just say to try and take your time, work out a refined sketch, and then line over it.

shining armor.// The torso seems a little short to me. Also, the far front leg seems a little thick. Otherwise it looks good.

Friskusis// I can't really make out the first one, the overlay is a bit distracting. I don't see any issues though. On the second one, the muzzle seems a little bit too rounded. Also, the torso is a little too short and thick(depending on the species). The last one looks pretty good, the face perspective is good. The close back leg looks a little bit off- I think the lines around the ankle are making it look a little contorted.
