Phaea

I turned, curling my tail around my body as I sat. When I spoke, my voice was very soft, almost a whisper. "Tell me. It's always good to talk about stuff. Even if it's painful..." my voice was hushed, as if I was afraid I'd break our delicate, newly formed almost friendship if I spoke too loudly.

Acid tucked his head closer into his chest and huffed "well... When I was a pup... My mum kinda... Died because of me. I didnt even know i had my acidic curse...., so I playfully bit my mum thinking it was harmless. Turns out I earnt my power early..." He sighed rubbing his injured paw. "So from then on... My dad hated me. So he told everyone that I was 'bad luck' or 'cursed'... And soon enough... My bad reputation took its toll." Acid breathed, sitting up again and looking down at her. "And... Then as a teen, I began hating everyone... That started teasing... And bullying me. Even if they had a reason." He uttered cracking his neck, "uh.. So yeah. I kept away everyone... Reason why I have no friends." He stated, drawing foxerfly figures in the sand, then stepping on them, causing the sand to turn black. "Never kept in touch with my family after that, until a few days ago when they dragged me onto a cruise ship." Acid finished swiping away the sand and baring his fangs.

Phaea

My heart ached for the split of poor Acid. Hesitantly, I reached out my muzzle then licked his cheek, doing my best to comfort him. "What you lost... "my voice broke for a moment. "What you lost I can only begin to imagine. But look at you now! You're alive, you're strong. You've got a future. No one, not even your father, can take that away from you." I flicked my tail, gazing at him unblinkingly, as if I was trying to pour every bit of hope I had into him.

Acid's ears perked as he saw edme and shaylee on the other end of the beach. As Phaea licked him, a Scarlett blush appeared on his dark pelt. He closed his eyes and looked down at his paws, "oh well... And.. I don't have a future... I barely have anything to live for. My family don't worry about me, I'm just an extra foxerfly in their eyes... Company as you might call it... Im not something to love." He finished standing up and tilting his head "hmm... I'm not.. Something someone should care about." He murmured brushing passed her and limping up the beach.

I shot a stricken look after Acid, before shooting a glance down the beach towards Edme and Shaylee. I hesitated before deciding to follow Acid, bounding up the beach. "Hey." I panted, catching up to him. "Of course someone cares for you. Someone always does... even when you're the vilest creature on the face of this planet, someone out there cares for you. And maybe it's not your family. Maybe you haven't ever met them, or you'll meet them in your future. But somewhere, someday, somebody will care for you." I stated firmly, stepping in front of him and looking right into his eyes, silently daring him to challenge me. After a few seconds of silence, I spoke, voice hushed. "You just can't loose hope..."

Acid stopped in his tracks as Phaea stood before him, glaring right into his dark green eyes. He huffed and roled his eyes, "i doubt it." he uttered and pushed her on to her back in a harmless yet playful manner "hm... And I already have." He sighed as his nose almost touched hers, he widened his eyes and shook his head. The large male huffed with a vague smile and stood off her and continuing to limp away, letting his large fluffy tail drop and run across her face as he dragged on.

I gave a small yip as he pushed me over, an indignant look plastered upon my face. He came close, and I inhaled sharply as he almost touched my nose with his. As soon as he moved to let me up, I stood, shaking sand from my thick pelt. I sneezed as his tail tickled my face, and fought the urge to resist nipping it. "So, do you think I listen to you because I enjoy it? Because it's fun to hurt with others? Can you really not understand I care? I asked, the hints of a snarl creeping into my voice.

Acid froze at her comment and gazed back at her, staring right into her teal eyes " I don't... Need anyone to care for me... I'm not worth it." He whimpered as pain from his wrists pulsed through him as he stepped back. He gasped for air and turned away from her, "I..." He stuttered and dashed away from her, ignoring each painful stride he took.
