Senshi wrote:"Her pride will be the death of me."
Senshi remembered saying that. After she'd caught the shiny Nidoran, she'd discovered that the little girl had a very good sense of pride. Stubborn as they came, proudest of the proud and she didn't listen one bit. She suspected it was because she was shiny. She remembered trying again and again to get the Pokemon to respect her, but no matter what she did that purple nose would turn to the air and she'd march off until she found herself in a Pokeball. After a battle where they'd narrowly won, she'd said those very words.
She had no idea how close it would be to coming true.
Senshi watched as Queen faced the Bronzong. Despite her constant reminders that Bronzong had Levitate, Earthquake and Fissure were continuously used. Her opponent, a Galactic Grunt, looked very annoyed.
"Look girl, this isn't even worth my time. Bronzong, Flash Cannon!" He commanded. The Bronze Bell Pokemon swivelled as silver energy started glowing within it, and the beam of light shot through the air.
Senshi let out a scream of terror as she leapt out of the way. She tried to grab Queen, but the Pokemon leapt away and out of sight in the cloud of dust and smoke. She got shakily to her feet and looked around wildly, but the dust covered the entire rooftop. She'd come here to fight Galactic Grunts, and when one of them had surprised her by coming for revenge, Queen was her only Pokemon at full health. And now that the Nidorina was out of sight, on a rooftop, in the middle of a battle, she was very worried.
"Nido! Nido!"
Senshi whipped around just in time to see another Flash Cannon rip through the air, narrowly missing a fleeing Nidorina. Before she could even smile, however, the weakened roof crumbled underneath the Pokemon and Queen fell with a terrified scream.
"Queen!" The teenager shouted as she started running. Without hesitation, she dove off the roof like she would into a pool and stretched her arms out to catch her Pokemon. "Queen!" She repeated, the wind roaring in her ears as she reached for her. The ground was starting to get closer, which drove her to stretch forwards more and take Queen into her arms. She held her close to her chest and tucked her head under her chin, effectively shielding her. She shut her eyes tight, and waited for the bone-shattering impact.
What she got was a bright flash of white.
Queen's claws had accidentally torn open her bag, and among the contents that spilled out was a Moonstone. Recognizing it, the Nidorina had gripped it in her claws before it could get away, and now she felt herself changing. Soon she was larger than her trainer, and she switched the positions around so that she held Senshi in her arms. The light exploded outwards just before she hit the ground, but her larger and admittedly bulkier form absorbed the impact.
Senshi opened her eyes as the light cleared, and looked into a pair of pale grey eyes. She was being held by a Nidoqueen, a large green and pink Nidoqueen! "Queen! You... You saved me..." She trailed off before hugging her Pokemon feeling the terror leave her as joy flooded her body.
I realized that you're a good person,
Senshi's eyes flew wide and she stared at the green face. Then happy tears filled the bright green orbs as she realized that the mental link was open between them.
And that you deserve my respect.
Senshi squealed and hugged her again. Thank you, Queen. She responded mentally, rubbing her cheek against the large shoulder.
Queen is based off of my shiny Nidoqueen, who doesn't listen to me at all. XD This is how Senshi won the respect of Queen.
