    @Sketchi, Marmoset & soul; Thanks so much for the suggestions on the feather wigs. It honestly never even occurred to me to look that up and they were super helpful.

    The issue is more my drawing the feathers though. I mean, it's really great to look at those references, and I know how it's supposed to look in my head, but it's more an issue of actually how to draw them. There are some great tutorials on individual feathers but there are minimal on actually how to draw feathers together and actually have them look like feathers.
    Does that make sense?

    @Yuki; What about using this site? Just find a picture that you think describes her style really well (Like an awesome punk type picture) and put that into the site (the little camera button in the top right corner) and see what palates it gives you? This one is pretty cool. Just searching Punk gives some good ideas.

    @meowool; That's a really cute style you have there! Other than what people have already said, I can't really pick anything that isn't right. Great job!

    @Catastrophe Blend: Wow! That's amazing! I can't paint well to save my life so that's pretty awesome! Where's her other wing though? You might just want to put an indicator of where that is if it's folded up or something. I agree with amymist too though, the tail does look like it's coming from a position that's a little awkward.
    Really great job though! I love the detail you've put into everything.

    @Soloby; That's really cool! The style is adorable! I don't think there's much advice I can give past the redlines you've already gotten. I'd love to see the finished work though :)

    @Kiwi in a bottle; Those pixels are adorable!! How much would it be to do a few for me hmmmm?? ;)
    Here's a cute little tree tutorial. It really depends on what plant and part of the plant you're wanting to improve on though.

    @Rune: I'm really bad at explaining things so I've done a redline for you. Take it with a grain of salt because I am certainly not the best artist out there, but I hope that helps! :3
    Image

    @orion: Oh my! That is beautiful!! I'm so jealous! o3o

    @Ciriun: Well, considering I too need to work on my shading, I can't really give you any creditable tips but the lineart looks great! I found thistutorial immensely helpful though.

    @Shining Armor: That's incredibly adorable <3 The only thing I can commend on is probably the length of the front legs but that's already been pointed out and red lined for you. Other than that, it looks fantastic!

    @corgie: I <3 that chibi so much!! The only thing I can suggest is probably making the hands a bit fuller and the fingers less pointed, but I'm horrible at hands so I can't exactly red line it :(
    Be prepared for an incoming PM about your humanoid prices though ;)

    @salt: Omg, you have no idea how much I adore the style you have there! Unfortunately I can't really comment on hands (I suck at them T_T), but the right shoe looks a little far over for the leg?
    Other than that, please please link me to your art shop because I wants your skillz! ~030~

    @Pikachu: Please refer to the rules on the front page which require you to comment on at least 10 pieces of art/posts above your own before asking for a critique or red line (Though check the rule because I may not have quoted it correctly). After that, just post what you want red lined and we'd all be happy to do it for you :)

    ~~~~~~~~~~
    That all being said. I would love love love some red lines on this piece please! Especially the one lying down (*derp* Nix can't draw poses *derp*)
@Nix
I'm not sure how much this will help, but it does give a good example of drawing feathers. Just read the little bit on the side, then scroll up to see the picture. In general, I suggest cockatoos as references, in particular the red tailed black cockatoo and the major mitchell cockatoo. I think their crests are the closest to what you're looking for.
You can also try these two tutorials. They both have sections on drawing feathers on parts other than just wings. I hope some of this is useful for you.
Of course I'm still hopeless at drawing feathers and wings myself. :P
    Hey there! Welcome to the Club :)
    To post it on Deviantart, you have to save the image as a PNG (you can do a job but if you want a transparent background you have to use PNG)
    To make a background transparent on sai, so your drawing as normal then create an extra layer as a background and colour it fully with any colour. Then hide the layer and save the image as a PNG, two options will come up (one starts with a 2, the other with a 3, sorry I can't be exact) choose the one that says 3, each pixel has opacity or something. Then save!
    I hope that made sense, I'm on my phone so let me know if you need clarification
@Nix Jazz:: this picture looks great! I have a hard time with perspective. It's something that I really need to work on, ingredients other things. However, the guy that is closest to the forground. The one laying down, Maybe have him sit up a little bit or at least prop his head up. It is making him look like he is about to fall off the page. Maybe even prop him up on his elbows lying on his back? Hope this helps. Sorry I can't red line, I don't have a computer at the moment. ;u;
This is my first complex piece that I did. Usually it's all characters, but I figured I Would dabble into architecture. This is of Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom (WDW in Florida) last time I was there, I got to bring my sketch book with me. :)
Picture is done in pen and colored with prisma color markers. I still need to go in and highlight all of the lights with wither white colored pencil, white out or white acrylic paint. :)
Just need a critique or two about the architect and such. ;) much appreciated!
Whoa, nice! That looks really great. I like about everything in it, though I think the balcony (?) works all that well if you consider the perspective of the rest of the things. It seems like we're looking up at it, though the other things in the background look more stationary/straight-forward perspective. I'm not very comfortable with drawing architecture myself, so I can't tell you how to fix it, but that's basically my first thought when I looked at it. ^^;
Just going to point out you don't have to comment on 10 pieces, but if someone posted within 10 posts of your own you're required to give feedback to them. I'm sure few people would post again if you had to write feedback to 10+ people to have allowance to publish your own works. d:
I think your sketch looks great so far! I'm not really a good human artist so I can't give you a redline with regards of the anatomy (regretfully). I do think it looks neat though, I do hope you plan on posting the finished piece here as well!
*claps hands together* Alright, time for some art of mine!
Image
A small pixel that I created. I'd like to know if I did a good job with the pixel artstyle, as I'm not too experienced with it just yet (started doing pixels early this year). I also have two complete drawings that I'd like people to take a look at:
Shaded and bust.
They all resemble characters whom are biped. The two first is of my own char, while the second belongs to Kitsanil on dA.
I'm thinking the second (shaded fullbody) has a little too long upper body, what do you guys think? I'd also like some feedback/critique on my shading, and whether it's plausible that the light would fall the way I added it. Thanks! <3
@Friskusis
I took a closer look at your pixel kitty, which is very lovely. I noticed is that your outline varies in width, and I wasn't sure if that was intentional or not. You've also got a sharp corner on its left hind leg and the top of its left ear seems to be missing a section of outline. Other than that it looks amazing, the anatomy is great and the shading is very well done.
To be honest, I was too lazy to fix it. d: Is it a really important part of pixel art, having the same width? And actually the left ear is supposed to be a bit droopy, but I see what you mean! It certainly looks like she's missing a piece of her ear. Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it! <3
um- hello guys- what a cool fanclub- or army -
I need some critique for a random piece I made- right now I am a "ametur" at pixel art- I can shade and all that but I am still insecure-
this is a piece inspired by "five nights at freddys" with the signature bird - .^^
and I know I probably made it way too fast- but I wanted it to have a look like- in and out- of like a horror movie thing ;- ;
Nobody on here talks with me , is friends, and I try to chat on the FR thread but nobody responds much.
Quitting CS and flightrising.
All my fr dragons/stuff went to one of my real life best friends, so don't ask for my FR stuff.
