I looked up the meaning of a lot of the lions names and most of them mean something in Swahili. Here's some of the names that mean something.
Simba- lion
Nala- gift
Kovu- scar
Pumba- dull-witted, stunned, absent-minded, careless
Sariba- mirage
Rafiki- friend
Zira- Hate
Shenzi- Barbarious, savage
