Spoilers for Crimes of Grindelwald! If you haven't seen it yet and don't want to be spoiled, scroll past this post!
Okay, anyways, spoiler time.
First of all, let's talk characters. I liked Leta Lestrange especially (they did her dirty and I'm mad she better come back), but Queenie, being a Jewish wizard (last name Goldstein, Jewish surname), joining the wizard nazis? Um? No. She better be very mind-controlled. She wants to marry a Muggle, and the wizard nazis are nothing if not racist! That one didn't make too much sense to me.
Also, the big plot twist at the end. Credence is a Dumbledore? The heck? He couldn't be Albus's half-brother on either side, because he's too young to have been born while Albus's mother was still around and also too young to be the father's kid, since he was in Azkaban at the time. There are a few theories that he's Ariana's son, but when she was "attacked", unspecified details, she wasn't old enough to be able to be pregnant, so that's out the window. The timelines don't match up for Credence to be a "brother" of any sort to Dumbledore... but maybe the "brother" quote from Grindelwald was about another character? Maybe he's a forgotten Scamander or Goldstein kid? I dunno. Discuss.
I will say that I'm kinda disappointed that Colin Farrell (guy who played Director Percival Graves) was ditched after the first movie. Honestly, the idea that that Jude-Law-Dumbledore was thirsting after that pasty mustache and failed pixie cut, not so believable. I honestly didn't like Johnny Depp's portrayal of Grindelwald nearly as much as Farrell's. Grindelwald-as-Graves felt more sinister and convincing enough to be a wizard uprising leader. The big speech (Depp) in COG was quite convincing, when Grindelwald is talking about what's going to happen if wizards don't take over, but in a lot of the rest of the movie, Grindelwald felt like a cartoon villain and not sinister enough. Say what you will, but I thought that besides the big speech, Depp's portrayal of Grindelwald was a little meh for me. My opinion.
Okay, anyways, back to the "your brother has betrayed you" quote. What if, conspiracy theory, Ariana's Obscuris (it's pretty certain she had one) transferred to Credence somehow? That's why he's lived so long, and why when supposedly he was killed, or at least his Obscuris was killed, in the end of the first movie, he didn't die, and he was still an Obscurial in the second. My theory. Also discuss. It would explain how he could be Albus's "brother", when the timeline is so screwed up.
Also, to finish this tangent, they've already screwed with the timeline by having McGonagall wandering around being full-grown, when she's not even born until 7 years after the second movie ends. Just saying.
What theories do you guys have? What were your opinions about the casting, the characters, and the movie? Of all the things I liked, I thought the lion-cat-dragon thing (I forget the name) was really cool, and the special effects and the Leta turning to the Scamander brothers and saying "I love you" to both of them was pretty emotional, not gonna lie. How do you think the brother thing is going to work out?Spoilers have ended! You're free to stop scrolling.

alright everyone, i'm gonna trigger a lot of people by saying this but am i the only one who thinks people who say they're a mix between two or more houses (like gryffinclaw, slytherpuff etc) are super annoying? like, you have one house, suck it up. i value loyalty as well as cunning but i don't call myself a "slytherpuff," i'm just a slytherin. hell, harry himself had lots of slytherin values, (and it's a popular theory that he was actually meant to be in slytherin,) but he wasn't sorted into "slytherdor," he was sorted into gryffindor because he valued gryffindor traits more. this brings me onto another point, yes you can have the traits of multiple houses, but you're still sorted into the one who has the trait you value the most, you don't get sorted into two.
also a reason i feel this is annoying is because people who do this are kinda objectifying the houses to their most fundamental parts. they're basically saying stuff like "i can't be in gryffindor only because i'm not super extremely brave and noble and pure and completely white with absolutely no grey areas, so i must be a mix of two houses."
alright, rant over.
(this video makes a better point than i do lol)

Watched the video, totally see the point. I get people struggling to choose between two houses, but trying to be part of multiple seems silly to me, too. Your house can change as you change, too. I used to admire the cunning and ambition that were the staples of Slytherin, but now I value the loyalty and adamant practice of moral rightness that Hufflepuff practices. Houses aren't set in stone, but they're also not meant to be taken that literally. Just choose one, y'all.

Favourite H.P. book/movie, and why: Book-wise, The Philosopher's Stone. Movie-wise, The Prisoner of Azkaban. I've read the first Harry Potter book so many times, it's ingrained in my soul. It has a really special place in my heart. I've even read it in 3 different languages, I'm that much of a nerd. The Prisoner of Azkaban film is amazing though, they executed it so well. The dementors scared me to death when I was younger, and the time travel! Oof. A beautiful film.
Favourite Character: It's Harry Potter. But since he's literally the title character, Draco Malfoy is a really close second.
I LOVE HARRY POTTER!
Hello! I'm not really sure why I'm not already in this club. I'm a huge potter head. Also, since the quiz didn't ask, I am a Pottermore-verified Slytherin I guess. I love being in Slytherin house, although my favorite color is red so that's unfortunate...The green is really nice though, can't deny that.
