I think both are considered as 'classics' though I don't know what the rest of them are....

I only now the movies. I watched them, because they happened to be on tv (it was on my list because of Nadia and the Secret of Blue Water - I just have to mention that name sometimes XD). Not sure, which animes are considered classic, maybe One Piece, Dragonball and Sailer Moon (maybe also Yu-Gi-Oh!) and the ghibli movies. I have seen some older animes, but they aren't that famous.

It was that gif in your signature that made me want to watch it!! XD I saw it and thought, 'hey, that guy looks really cool, I wonder what he's from...' A couple of google searches later, I end up with Evangelion, and started watching it. XD

To me, One Piece is a big-name Shounen rather than a classic, but I am watching it as it airs on Toonami. XD I would probably have a hard time sitting through DBZ, but it probably would be a classic too. I think Akira is a classic, but I couldn't sit through it either because of the goriness...
Sailor Moon is a classic, and an anime I watched when I was really young. I guess I could try to tackle it sometime. Same with Yu-gi-oh. I think I even have a VHS tape of a Yu-gi-oh movie laying around somewhere at the house. XD

have fun watching it!
>>also, if you liked cowboy bebop, you should try watching space dandy! it's made by the same people and season 1 has recently ended. it's really funny and the art style is amazing.
watch the opening here, it might get you interested in it.
