i wish there would be more books centred around other clans, it would be nice to have a main series arc with no thunderclan perspective at all instead of just super editions + the manga series. it would also be nice to get to know the other background cats—since we hardly know anything about the thunderclan background characters maybe we’d have luck in another clan.

I REALLY want a Riverclan/Windclan perspective, the authors usually just kind of throw them to the side (especially Riverclan)

I'm really excited for the upcoming Mudclaw manga (Winds of Change) and Leopardstar special edition. I just really hope they don't ruin either of their characterizations or create more massive plot holes LOL

oh goodness, i must be out of the loop, i wasn’t aware either of these were going to be a thing. i really hope they do both characters justice—both were very interesting in their own right in the main arc, so im hoping for the best with these. it’s great that they’re focusing more on characters that were big parts in stories but didn’t get too much focus in the main series,

I felt the beginning of the book dragged a lot - it felt like there was SO MUCH back and forth deciding how all of thunderclan felt, then how all of the rest of the clans felt, then to the moonpool, back, then back to the moonpool for no narrative reason..? Other than, I guess, to show Shadowsight's willing to rebel? I don't really understand why we needed to be shown that considering he's gone off and done his own thing since he was tiny, lol. This was really epitomised for me when everyone was sat around after finally having decided what to do, and then the cast was like "let's hunt first"! How much forestalling do you need to fill 350 pages 😩
Nonetheless, the back half where we actually got into the dark forest was RAD, really interesting to read. I totally didn't cop the Willowshine twist at all until Rootspring realised, and it's been a while since I was genuinely surprised by a WC book lol. Some of the lore was fairly inconsistent (how come Willowshine's body died when Ashfur only spirit-killed her....?) but truthfully that's not something I'm terribly bothered about in these kids' books, if it makes sense for the story I'll suspend my disbelief.
I LOVED seeing Snowtuft, really cool comeback, I can't wait to see if it was a redemption arc or he was just tricking them all along... 👀
