Narakari Grand Tournament – How to tame your NarakariFirst contact.
No luck again. It hadn't seemed to be her month she thought as Rin led Khione back from a hunt. Either she would go full days without seeing a new hell horse or run off on wild goose chases, worst yet was catching sight of a beast, chasing it for miles only to have a lasso catch on a branch, or miss anything entirely. She walked slowly back to camp, then noticed on the far side some loud sounds, Khione's ears pricked, Yama must have had a good haul. She quickened her pace and hitched Khi nearby. Yama was on the far side of the scuffle her stunning grey stallion turned circles beneath her, shouting directions, a few hands already had some of the creatures split into separate pens.
Rin dashed through the din and called out to Yama, "Need another hand?!"
"Definitely!" Came the exasperated reply, she must have had a time getting this big of a group this far on her own!
A smile painted Rin's face as she whooped and drove the new arrivals into pins, Rin couldn't remember when so many different Kari were caught all at the same time, and each was as unique as the last. Rin was already picking from the herd who would come home with her, though with 3 new arrivals just last week, and the barn expansion barely past planning stages she knew she would have to limit herself to just 1.
A white caught her eye, and as the dust was settling and each had found a space on the large circle. She walked over and threw her arms over the rails to watch him. Definitely a fine looking guy and a black eye mark, nice. She frowned abit at the sight of his other side, heavy scars? Wonder what in the world he could have gotten into to get that mangled?
Just then Yama rode over and dropped to the ground behind her, Rin turned and after a hearty greeting Rin pointed to the white. "So, we working a price for him?" Yama looked past Rin to the stallion with a smirk. But she didn't say anything as she leaned on the rail.
"He is a sight isn't he? They all are, but he can't be bought. Nor can any save one for you." She gave a withholding wink.
Oh dear what could Yama have in store for me? Rin thought. This could be dangerous! Yama started walking to the other side of the circle, and Rin was attempting to narrow the suspects as she followed. A good looking blood bay app had promise, and a seal bay tobi was exceptional. But Yama kept walking. Finally they stopped at a pen. Inside everything was quiet. Rin squinted through the sun, and noticed a muddy sordid beast leaning against the far rail, away from the noise of the others. He had perfect structure, nice clean legs, but it was hard to see much else as he was covered form head to tail.
Yama looked at Rin "Well, I see you're impressed, I'll leave you to get acquainted. Since we don't have enough room for this large group at the intake of the Hell mouth you'll be taking him home. We'll talk over price after you've gotten him started." And with that Yama left her, totally flabbergasted.
Regaining her composure with a shrug, Yama definitely knew what she was doing so why question it? She climbed the gate and landed on the other side expecting a flurry of movement from the 'kari. She wanted to see him move at least, get a sense as to how well he used himself and if any damage was done in such a large group. But he never stepped off, only flipped an ear at her. Rin cocked her head to the side confused. She had seen wild beasts flip a switch once they got their second wind, so this made her hesitant. She smacked her leg hoping to get a reaction, the stallion turned quickly and faced her, head low and both ears locked on to her position in the middle of the pen. Rin stared, totally shocked, he was completely blind!
