Damn.... I don't want to lose my little Colato as a Mako. I'm not allowed a DA. ;-;

You won't lose him. It will just not be a mako in 2 months ^^' You keep him.

They mean, lose his being a Mako. It does seem a little unfair. Many adopted so they could be a part of this lovely and friendly species - in addition to loving the character itself of course - without ever knowing that they would be required to have a DA or else it can't be of this specie anymore :| as in Koda's case, she can't have a DA, so no matter what her hard-earned Mako can no longer be part of the species. It's not really fair, she didn't know in advance ^^;

Let me try clarifying.

If in 2 months you do not register, the Mako is no longer a Mako. It will be a regular shark hybrid. It will not participate in the species contests or group, that's it. You can do whatever you want with them, given credit for the design. No rules for them. Be free. Revamp it. It's not a bad thing.

The inactivity rules do not take in effect for something not part of the species.

This inactivity rule is for the future makoatls on DA, as activity will be asked, but not heavily forced on. The rule is there in case I need it. People who own Makos now or I owe on the old lines this does not effect you.

But people want it as a Mako so they can participate in events and be apart of the community. That's why they tried for the Mako in the first place, instead of just making a sharkdog on their own. .___. And when they tried for the Mako, no one told them that it's Mako-ness could be taken away .. ;A;

First, grab a new ID number here: http://evolantiss.deviantart.com/journa ... -434876728

Once you have a number, take whatever image you think will be a good reference. Upload it to the group with this info:

Deviation Title: ID# and their name
Description:
Registered Name,
Gender,
Original reference,
Father & Mother (if applicable)
any special items gained from the group.

Submit.

You won't lose your baby. Even if you don't register in time, it will stay your character x3

IF you cannot get on dA, then you cannot participate in the community, since I am moving most the stuff there. That group /is/ the essence of makos now. The Fanclub can still be here, but I'm not staying on CS much longer. I cannot keep track of things here when I quit. I didn't want to close makos forever, now. This is the better option for me.

I'm not saying /you/ cannot participate in makos. Just that particular, unregistered shark dog.

Think of it this way: IF you do not have it as a mako, you can make up your own rules. Want to edit? Go for it as long as you don't use the original oekaki for it. Trade it. Sell it with the artist's permission. Breed it on your own. Use it by being whatever you deem it to be besides a Makoatl.

From what I've seen, you can keep your Mako's designs, but they won't be Makos anymore and you can't participate in any events with them, etc. .____. And I'm guessing you can't adopt more.

@Talon; some people may still wish to keep it as a Makoatl though. Especially if they can't go on DA, so they can't get anymore but their current one. Even if they can't participate in all events.
At least, can DA users register non-users for them? So they can still have them as Makos? C:

I feel that I should point out that according to moderator's past decisions, I don't think it is allowed to remove them from the species; viewtopic.php?f=53&t=1934434&start=10#p60224765 , based on rules that were made after their adoption.

Most of us approached Makos because we wanted to be part of the friendly community, and because we wanted to share in the species and the species events and fun. We put in a lot of effort to earn our part in the species and the community, so you can't really just boot us out like that I don't think, especially since we previously never had any reason to suspect that we could be booted out of the species and end up with regular shark/dragons that we could have just made on our own in the first place without any of the competiton/money paid for art/effort and time poured away. Makos being part of an exclusive-ish species was a big part of what made them special for some people as well, and ensured that they were taken care of.
