episode two of sinsa's misery:
spent about $10. ended up getting ningguang. not bennett.
i heard she's good but im not entirely sure on what to do with her?
my party right now is qiqi, kaeya, xinyan and razor. i also have jean but..
i have qiqi as a healer. and kaeya as a dps. and xinyan. so i have no use for her.
should i leave out ningguang or use her?? and swap her out for who?

truthfully its up to you!! i personally find that having a variety of different types of dps is good for weekly bosses. for example i don't really use razor much but without him i could never kill the wolf boss lol.

shes really fun to play for me at least and sometimes i build characters simply because i find them pretty to look at regardless of dps ability (zhongli). truthfully the gameplay is set up that you can throw anyone in a party and do fine so don't stress about whats a good team and build who you want to^^

but if you do want to use her in your main party i would recommend swapping out one of your claymores (razor or xinyan)

@Aaron yoo keqing's so versatile she's sickening... tho i dont think you'd need to worry abt spiral or anything if youre not interested. ik i dont and im ar 55 LOLLLL. just have fun teleporting around <3

@Moart my team rn is xiao, jean, mona, and a flex spot tht goes to amber/diluc/chongyun depending on my mood. if you're not concerned about Meta, i would suggest switching each of your party members around w xiao, then see who you miss the most. or, consider what utility and role each brings to the team; for example, xiao's not gonna add anything much to an exploration team besides using his skill mid-air and the stamina decrease for climbing, but the latter isnt noteworthy unless u climb mountains for a living to collect 1500 qingxin like i did. diluc and ganyu (tho i dont have ganyu) are good dps as is, so replacing one of them could be fine, since fischl can hunt for ganyu instead. but xiao is terrible at breaking ores out of ult, while diluc excels at it all the time as a claymore. personally, i would make a second team or go switch members and see who i miss the most. i have two anemo on my team rn bc i like the stamina decrease and movement speed increase, but that's just me. tho i'll stop typing bc ive been rambling orz
@loverboy_ first off, there's no need for u to use qiqi if you dont want to. the current meta discussion revolves around qiqi being the best healer but having nothing else to redeem her so she's the "worst 5*", which only matters if you're in spiral abyss and mean. her energy recharge is slow tho. i've had qiqi since the first week i played, but i benched her once i got better at the game, because her overhealing saved my ass as a former razor main lol... my team w her was razor, fischl, xiangling/jean, and qiqi. w this team, i rarely did elemental reactions so im still learning them now ngl. if you dont like or are bad at dodging, i'd suggest using qiqi bc she can facetank (which is fun). qiqi functions better w a sacrificial sword than without, in all scenarios. or, if you're like ar >35, she can work as a dps. when i didnt understand artifacts, she and razor competed for the dps role sometimes. if i were u and i wanted to use qiqi, i would pair her w kaeya, xingqiu, and a flex spot. kaeya would be dps, qiqi would be healer and cryo resonance, xingiqu damage reduction w his swords. or, looking at ur second team, im guessing fischl is your dps? you could use qiqi as the other half of superconduct, if you're set on using qiqi, and replace bennett bc overload launches ur enemies away in most instances.
@sinsaneux ~ congrats! ningguang is very pretty. she can be used as a main dps or for geo resonance w zhongli (main dps), if u have him, i believe. but i cant speak extensively on her, since i dont use her. tho most ppl ik use her as a main dps. imo, i'd go into her trial and see how it feels to play her and if you like her playstyle, look up guides. iirc, she relies on charged attacks as main dps, and while constellations benefit her tremendously, she is a great dps without. since you use kaeya as a main dps, i'll also mention that her attacks, especially the charged ones, will feel slower and clunkier, so continue using kaeya if u like him, bc hes also great. no need to change what works unless it becomes boring to u


im of the same mind as kestrl; i build characters based on their aesthetic.. my mona is supposed to be support but since i got her this month, she kills my mobs for me bc i think shes fun and i love the frustration i get from using her sprint (xiao finally gets to rest from his immortal duties). tho i stick to my one team instead of using multiple dps characters bc i love monotony. but, i use this google doc to get a rough idea of how to build characters if im interested in them; these are helpful if you want a clean visual + want to go into abyss floors 9-12. hope this helps some of u <33

man i do the same thing with weapons. i know that for zhongli to be the best viable dps that he should use the pike polearm but it doesn't match his color scheme so starglitter it is LOL. i paid $10 for bp just so i could have a green bow for venti hhhh

and oh, dont worry. i used to build teams up by aesthetics too.
i had a whole team once of kaeya, xinqiu, chongyun and qiqi.
why? for the aesthetics! having 3 cryos was not efficient.

@Kestrl nooo omg... i do the same thing w everyone but mona... like razor had the bell bc i think its the prettiest weapon ever? ive seen ppl say its bad and it doesnt benefit any current claymore character, which is true but 😒 whyd it take me to floor 10 of old spiral abyss then 😭😭???? when i got wolf’s gravestone i went thru the stages of grief. jean has the black sword bc she has some v subtle red in her design and ik it should go to keqing but it is so harsh on her... mona has lost prayer bc i love movement speed sm i cant live without it. shes lightning mcqueen now. i dont have venti but i understand. the bow’s name is viridescent hunt, right? tht literally screams green hello?? and the royal spear is so pretty i just want it but i dont have starglitter bc i instinctively trade them in for fates
@sinsaneux ~ plsss just last week i had a team w double anemo and double hydro... i would still have it if xingqiu didnt reach friendship level 10. i think a cryo team is fun tho... like theyre are the cutest characters; at least tho u could have a shatter comp w xingqiu. or just keep them frozen and kill them like that <33

this is a q for everyone in general, but what has ur favorite part of the 1.3 update? i like the fetch quests, bc it was funny to get nods from certain npc stories, but im waiting for the leyline overflow event bc i grow poor

I get doing things for the Aesthetic[TM] so much c':
I kept Wander's Troupe artifacts on Venti for way too long instead of swapping them out for Viridescent Venerer because the lore of the wandering musicians was too good to pass up for him. And many of my weapon choices are linked more to lore or looks than anything else. Like Jean using the Favonius Sword or Albedo having not let go of Festering Desire since I got it--
Though at the very least, not many of them are terrible choices.
Beidou's still using the Bloodtainted Greatsword though. Because its a Look. I kept MEANING to give her Prototype Archaic instead, but whoops that ended up going to Diluc.

Most of my artifacts for so long were less 'this works on this character' and more 'yeah i think this character would have this for some reason'.
Wanderer's Troupe on Venti? Check. I'm also guilty of Noblesse Oblige on Kaeya for a while. And Xiangling ended up with a lot of Retracing Bolide for ages. Partly because the look worked with her and partly because domains hate me so I always have so many of them.
