Am I the only one who thinks Brokenstar is the best villain in warriors?
Like, he was the only one who actually succeeded at anything overly influential. Sure Tigerstar attempted a lot of stuff, but did he ever manage to drive out an entire clan? No. He did not.
I have to say, his appearances in Omen of the stars were pretty dissapointing and anticlimactic though, but then again, so was pretty much everything else in that series in my opinion, it’s only saving grace was Ivypool. I have yet to read A vision of shadows, but I want to work on reading some of the super editions first, so... hopefully it’s better? Although, from what I’ve heard about it so far, it’s not sounding too promising.
Again, I just want to take a second to rant about Omen of the stars, as it is personally my least favourite series and I have way too many issues with it to count-
First of all, why make the first book a traveling book? I don’t personally find traveling books as boring as most fans of the series claim them to be, but at least wait until later in the series so we can spend some time with the clans themselves first? Second, Dovewing. Potentially the most boring, whiny, and at times generic main protagonist I have ever had the displeasure of reading. First she whines about having powers. Then she whines when her powers don’t work. Make up your mind??? I really disliked the concept of the three to begin with (Although I still adore Jayfeather as a character, he would have been just as good without powers.) and Dovewing just pushed it over the edge for me. I’m not a huge fan of Hollyleaf, but she was a way more likeable character.
Forbidden love and love triangles. Why. Why forbidden love again? We have seen this plot done way too many times. I swear, if they try it again in Vision of shadows I am actually going to scream. Most the time these relationships aren’t even interesting to read about, and Dovewing X Tigerheart does not fix this issue. Bumblestripe could be annoying, but his heart was in the right place, and he was a good guy, so why turn him down for someone in a different clan? So many times did I feel tempted to just skip Dovewings chapters entirely.
Character. Butchering.
Yellowfang??? What happened to Yellowfang????
Why did she go from being wise and caring to reminding me of some crazy lunatic raving about the apocalypse?
How do you mess up a character this badly??? I absolutely loved yellowfang in all the books prior, but I absolutely despised her appearances in this series.
Also, final battle was the most anticlimactic thing.
Like ever.
I don’t know, I don’t mind if people like this series or anything, I just really needed to get that off my chest.
Also, I don’t pesonally think Mapleshade deserves starclan, but that’s just me I guess :’)
