As far as I know of that, it's just a rumor that's never been confirmed nor denied by Erin Hunter. A lot of people think it's true. I'm one who doesn't.

It would make a nice twist. My friend said it came up in Long Shadows, but I just read that, & it didn't.

There used to be a page that had kinda like a 'profile' for some of the characters on MWC (they acidently deleted it xxDD) & under Firestar's Family it said Princess (sister,) Scourge (half-brother,) Ruby (half-sister) (& their other brother, i forget his name... was it Socks?) Cloudtail (nephew,) & so on with Leafpool & Squirrelflight &Jayfeather & Lionblaze & Hollyleaf & everybody. I don't know if it was official, but they were pretty thorough.
