Hiper: that is an excellent point. If it was tiered and you found you had the time or extra funds they may not be able to go to your SS or if you know your going to have a busy holiday but still do your best and tank yourself low tier your more likely to get someone doing the minimum

Just a suggestion for next year's SS, maybe have tiers like Plumies does, so people get grouped with other people who plan on doing the same amount of work. Because the current values are pretty vague.

Just throwing in my two cents, but I don't think it's a very great idea personally. If a person's given a larger minimum they're going to have more pressure on them during the holiday season to meet that mark! Secret Santa's are supposed to be about having fun and giving as many gifts as you're comfortable making/obtaining for your giftee ♥

Secret Santa's are about having fun creating gifts for other people, it's not necessarily about receiving!! I personally cherish every gift I receive during the holidays, even if they wouldn't normally be "up to my standard." The time and thought that goes into gifts really resonates with me since people try their hardest to make their assigned person happy ;u; /// Do you know how terrible it might feel for someone to say the gift you worked hard on is inadequate or not enough??

I'd personally be happy with even one gift, since it's the holiday spirit that matters more than what you get <3 ^v^//

Instead of recruiting artists to quickly draw a bunch of free stuff for people who aren't satisfied with gifts they do receive, (which personally sounds very inconsiderate and greedy tbh), I think it would be better to have SS Elves to make gifts for those who don't get gifted at all! If you receive a gift in return you should be grateful for the effort they put into it! Posting otherwise or feeling disappointed in what you got isn't in the holiday spirit and isn't really the point of Christmas.

I've had some great Santas in the past, but I join the event primarily to draw for others anyway haha <33 uwu

@lunamoth19: Beautifully put. And that sketch is truly gorgeous! My plans for next years SS will be similar to this secret santa. The only thing that will change is the minimum limit; I'll be raising it to 5 pieces - one must be a custom fullbody. There are many art shops here on Chicken Smoothie that accept pets and there are even some generous CAAA artists that do free or discounted art for the secret santa, so it shouldn't be too hard to achieve. The other pieces may be headshots, lineart color-ins, etc. as usual, as I understand it is hard for some to afford and make high quality art. ^^ The other things will stay the same. If I get complaints about raising the limits, I may hold a smaller SS with a smaller limit as well. Generous gifters who are willing to take a minimum of 2-3 gifts will be permitted to join both SS's [or even just the one with a smaller limit] if they wish; that way they'll have the unique opportunities to give a big gift to someone who wasn't able to do much, and receive an equal-quality gift from someone else. c:

Ah well I've only ever participated in two SS things (including this year) so I don't really know haha.
I do tend to worry, but it's not really that big of a deal if I don't get something in the end....?
