Yes, it's finally the announcement you all have been waiting for. This took a bit longer than we had expected but we have reached a verdict on things we thought needed to be addressed.
To begin with, first off we have an announcement for the artist staff members. From now on artists are only allowed to post 2-3 unjudged adopts at a time. This means if you've posted 3 unjudged adopts you can't make any more til you've judged one of them. Think of it like slots, until you have a freed up slot then you can't post another adopt. We choose this too keep from over population as we had reached 600 too quickly after 550 had just been posted.
Which brings us to our next update, the admins agreed that there are too many special numbers at a time and agreed that having so many specials will defeat the purpose of the meaning 'special'. So from now on the special numbers will be changed to every 100s. There will no longer be a special every 50 number. The special will be done by one artist to limit confusion on who's doing the special number and which number they had signed up for.
The next thing in our updates will be the types of contests to be held. No longer are FCFS adopts allowed, though guessing games are allowed. We decided on this because it seems unfair to those that can't be on at the time to place a form, especially if it's a design that they'd like to try for. This was decided on basis of people's schedules and not everyone can be on 24/7 to be there 'first'.
Another on the list is how long a contest can be judged. We understand that some contests take time to look over forms and read them but we don't think a contest should take more than a month tops, especially if there is a few amount of forms to look over. Some might disagree with this saying they're busy or life is in the way but if so then why post such a long contest to begin with? So, from now on, if you close a contest for judging but haven't announced a winner by 2 weeks then a guest judge will step in and help you. The limit is a month at most then someone else all together will judge and decide on a winner. We decided on this to keep contests from being forgotten about. Also, contests need to have an end date before being posted to keep them from drawing out for lengthy periods of time and still not being judged or closed.
And last on our updates list is the staff updates. We had looked at some of the staff members that have multiple jobs and decided they should get a title of their own for contributing to the community, they'd also get several new responsibilities but nothing that was too hard. So we'd like to congratulate Albino Tabby and Meep Meep as our new Administrator Assistants! As an Administrator Assistant you have the roles you had before but you also become like a global mod, which would be to over see all our threads. You also become an outside input for us admins when we're discussing changes for RPWs, you'd be added to our skype group so make sure to make sure you have a skype or make sure your added to that. If your not already on either Raven's, Wolphee's or my friend list on skype just contact me and I'll give you my skype so I can add you to the group. But beside being an outside input you'd also be one of the few reserved guest judges that would be chosen to help judge. And lastly they'd be able to hold contests that an admin would normally hold, course after being run by the admins and ok'd.
And with that all said the adopts have been opened back up after 600 is posted. Thanks all for being patient while we sorted this. If you have any questions to the new updates feel free to contact me, Raven or Wolphee.
