It'll keep what bonding level it was at when you removed it; just like Laark said, you can move them around onto other dragons and keep their levels up. I usually take my extra familiars and switch them with my regular ones just for the sake of bonding, then switch them back, heehee.

Well the dragons in the eggs often turn out very ugly and nobody seems to want even nice looking starter dragons, you can pick up rarer breeds for as low as 10k so it may be quite hard at the moment to find someone willing to pay what unhatched eggs used to be worth, if that makes sense
