Ok, so I have been waiting to do this idea for a while, but it's not originally my idea, and I don't know what to do. Years ago I role played on Howrse, and one of my friends came up with an idea for a role play that never really took off, but I thought it was a good idea. It was about a new mall being built in town, everyone coming to the grand opening, but suddenly the lights go out and the doors lock, and a message comes over the intercom that the people locked inside have been chosen to participate in a government experiment. They would be locked in the mall for X amount of time, basically surviving and keeping alive. Their actions would be recorded for research purposes, and all of the 'employees' have been removed from the mall, leaving the 100 or so bewildered civilians to battle it out for food, water, and whatever else they need. There would be no heat or air conditioning, no lights or electricity, and I was thinking maybe running water in a select few places, since without it things inside a closed building would become rather... gross and filthy if you catch my drift. But I don't want to steal this persons idea, and I don't know how to contact them anymore. So what do you guys think, should I just forget it?

As much as I like the idea, I think it's wrong to use someone's idea without their consent. No matter how old it is.

Thats what I was thinking. It sucks though. XD

I know how you feel about that one. There's this rp that I want to remake so badly, so I sent a message to the OP. but they still haven't responded, even though it's been awhile. DX

On another note, is anyone in the mood for a big cat rp? I'd love one, but I'm out of ideas. -_-

Might I suggest giving credit to the person. It's not fool proof but at least it would be clear that you're not claiming it as your own

Well I have come up with an idea to get permission. The person still has an account on Howrse, though they have not connected in months, and they are still on my friends list. I took a glance at their friends list displayed on their page and found someone who they apparently knew in real life, so I sent that person a pm, asking if they could possibly ask this person to either answer me through them or log into their account, that is if they still kept in contact. I'm waiting on a reply, this person still seems active so I thought I would give it a try.

*pops in* Hey guys, I haven't posted since the last thread which seems like so long ago! uvu
Anyways, I was wondering if there were any active semi-literate+ roleplays that I would be able to join? (since I'm so bored)

Okay, I made a warrior cats rp(NOSTALGIA) because I just felt like it. XD
It's basically a clan that settled in a human city, in the aftermath of a war. So the city is all barren and desolate, except for the plants sprouting in between cracked roads and stuff. Anyone interested? If so, here's the link to the rp, it's called RavageClan.

third for writing, mostly third for reading. It's just more comfortable for me. First is okay, but I keep switching tenses when I write in it.
I don't check messages here. If you've found me through other websites or communities such as deviantART/Kiamaras, my characters are not for sale and never will be.

{{ To answer my own question, I too mostly stick with 3rd, especially when I'm roleplaying. But when I'm writing stories I sometimes try 1st person just to see if I'm any good at it. Sometimes it's okay but I struggle and like 3rd person better. Reading on the other hand is a little different. 3rd person is always good, but if the author knows how to write in 1st person really well, I will definitely enjoy it. I've attempted writing in 2nd person once and found it extremely difficult, and I've read an entry for a contest I judged and it was in 2nd person and they did amazing.

I rarely ever do 2nd person, I just stick to 1st or 3rd. 3rd especially when I'm roleplaying, but my short stories and joining forms often veer back to 1st person perspective. I don't know I just find it easier that way.
