when you are in love with someone, you should be able to say that without them, you would still be alright, and that's why you're choosing to stay with them. they shouldn't be... your partner shouldn't be a crutch, they should merely be... what, like a not-too-major aid? and yes, being involved with someone isnt a bad thing at all, but man, if you think you cant survive without them get out get out get out. that is unhealthy.
