    also preset genders or... ?

I detest pre-set characters. cx I'll give a two - three line, gender-neutral prompt for each character just to give people ideas, but even the prompt material is 98% optional. Personality, gender, appearance, motivations, etc, are all flexible for whatever you want. c:

I need a musketeer role play... or 1x1. Mostly based on the man in the iron mask or a plot where four musketeers have retired, one later became a holy man. One became a drunk and lover or women. One became a family man. And the last one stays at the side of a horrible, cruel king. They then come together to over throw the king and place in another, kinder man which so happens to be the family mans son. But yeah... I am really in the mood for this. XD

Anyone down for a semi-literate / literate (flexible on posting) warrior cat roleplay? I wanna get a few users together who will post actively, like at least once every few days. Short forms. We can either brainstorm a plot beforehand or play it by ear.

hm, interesting thing I found
However I don't really agree that you should never go into first person or the name thing, since I do it purposefully at times if the other character doesn't know the name of my character yet

I don't really like this. It's basically a grammar lesson, which is fine, but there is no way to "correctly" role play. Everyone does it differently, and as long as you find your niche it doesn't really matter how you go about role playing. As for the name thing, a lot of people put titles on their posts with their character's name, so I don't really see that as a bad thing. Especially if you're doing a one x one and there aren't a bunch of characters to keep track of.
That arrogance irritates me.

If the other character doesn't know my characters name I don't use it, since typically my partner doesn't know my characters name either since I refuse to do forms and idk, I think it just adds something else since then the other character is forced to think of and use a different way of referring to them than their name
and although I can see it as being a good starting post for new roleplayers but we already have a 'how to roleplay' guide with the basics, and I guess I don't completely see the need, especially since they make it seem like those are hard and fast rules, which they aren't.
I mean who doesn't love a quick chatzy roleplay that doesn't follow any rules?

      Form
      Username: AJEarthsquared
Favorite type of RP: animal roleplay. also humans, but only in onexone c:
      Roleplay sample:
I shuffled around uncomfortably again, nudging my kits close. "Momma?" Birchkit asked, then sneezed and fell over. I sighed, scooped her up, and she started to squirm. I put her back down. "Momma, my throat hurts." said Birchkit, coughing rapidly with tears coming to her eyes. "I know, and you'll be ok." I said, licking Birchkit. Birchkit groaned and lay down. Dapplekit nudged me. "Momma, will she be OK?" he asked worriedly. "I don't know." I said, truthfully. I knew that most kits with greencough didn't survive, but I hoped Birchkit would. Oakfur started talking to Dewsong, and I tried to get into a more comfortable position. I still could not believe I as going to have kits, and practically thought I was lying to myself. But I knew I wasn't, so I grabbed a small mouse again and gently ate it, paying attention to the musty taste and softness. Back home, the mice were vibrant and chewy, making it a perfect early morning snack. These mice could do anything- make you go to sleep, wake you up, or just be a snack. I smiled at my new discovery of mice, and noticed Oakfur's eyes soften.
