At first I thought you were saying that wasn't how it works to me, and I'm like, "what did I do wrong?!"
I know! That guy basically liked them together just because he *disliked* Jean. I've done this too, (but the pairing made sense and was there, or at least slightly. Read: Kitty and Kurt liking each other in Evo. I liked Lance on his own but he was kind of a jerk to Kitty.) but he was completely disregarding many people's backstories, so I'm not happy with the idea either. Though I seriously doubt anyone else would have okayed it on the team.
Yeah, Rogue and Gambit are the best together. Every other pairing with them I hate, although most of them are just weird and wouldn't work at all.
Edit: Yes, their (Rogue and Cyclops) whole relationship was odd. Made sense her side, but not his...
Edit #2: How does everyone feel about Channing Tatum playing Gambit in the next X-men movie? I'm actually curious about it. Though I haven't seen Channing Tatum in anything, I've heard of him a lot. I think he might be a good fit, but I'm not really 100% on it.

I liked seeing kitty "with" someone, but I like her with Bobby better than with Lance. Though I like how he "behaved" for her, that was sweet.

Agreed, though she liked him and he knew it but he was faithful Jean(which was also sweet); I just can't see that working.

I hate the idea. I was so excited that he was getting his own movie!! (actually, they were supposed to release Origins movies on a lot of character when the released Origins: Wolverine (you can find their trailers on YouTube)
And in both Origins: Wolverine and the Origins movie he was supposed to get, Taylor Kitsch was Gambit. This Channing Tatum doesn't work. He's a good actor, he just doesn't work for the character Gambit.

Anyway, it's just my opinion. I saw Taylor play Gambit first so I will probably have a hard time accepting anyone else...But, then again, I thought I would hate First Class because of the new cast and I don't. I really like that movie <3

So, in order to try and appease everyone, I will work on the beginning as much as I can; I will also very randomly pull little tid-bits from any finished section and post, these will be few and far between though(they will be in their own post and I will place a warning at the top for those who don't want spoilers).

Anyone have anything in particular you want to share/rant about/discuss to try and this place breathing again?

Well, I don't see much new stuff for X-men anymore, but I have seen an infographic talking about how to throw a card like how Gambit does.

So I was doing it right! Awhile ago I was trying to teach myself to throw cards(got the whole family into it), and we all had different techniques, mine was like the top picture; I haven't gotten past throwing them into a pot yet though. Thank you for sharing, now I can get back into practice <3

The Adventures Continue

Prologue

-----Two years later. Gambit joined the X-Men and moved into the Institute, he and Rogue have strong feelings for each other. Logan and Gambit still don’t get along; Logan is very close to Rogue, and extremely protective of her. Erik has had a change of heart, and is now a teacher at the Institute. The Phoenix emerged, Scott is the only one who can keep her calm and in control. They live in the mountains, away from civilization.

Book 1 - Battle of the Sentinels
Chapter 1

-----The team fought against three Sentinels. Logan had just destroyed one Sentinel and turned to see how the team was doing. As he looked around, he saw Rogue pinned under a support beam. The Sentinel charged its weapons and aimed them at her. Logan extended his claws and growled before lunging forward. He landed between Rogue and the Sentinel. Logan heard a thud as Rogue managed to get up just as he leapt at the giant robot.
-----Gambit saw that Rogue was pinned but before he could move toward her, Logan was already there. Gambit sighed before turning his attention back to his own battle. He couldn't quite describe his feelings about the relationship between Rogue and Logan. Gambit knew Logan was very protective of Rogue and still didn't really trust him, but he couldn't quite figure out why. Why was Logan so protective, and what kind of relationship, exactly, did Rogue have with him? Gambit felt somewhat threatened by, and a little envious of, the closeness between them. A loud bang to the right brought Gambit back from his wandering thoughts. The Sentinel he was fighting had just missed due to Shadowcat short-circuiting its censors. Gambit threw two flaming cards at the machine before stepping back. The cards found their mark and the Sentinel fell to the ground, smoking.

I know it's not much, but it's as far as I could get(I am trying to recall the perfect wording from over a year ago, so bare with me)

Trust me, this all looks so much nicer on my Word Document with all my fancy fonts and various colors xp
Maybe I'll just start taking screen shots and posting it that way...

Maybe say, "As Logan sliced through a Sentinel's shoulder, he caught a glimpse of other X-men fighting around him. He saw everyone trying to hold back the robots, but a naggging feeling told him someone was missing... he glanced across the grounds of the mansion (just assuming here ), peering through a grove of trees, and saw a fallen robot on the ground. Something moved from beneath its arm. Then he remembered--Rogue!"
Sorry for writing so much, I don't want to write your story for you! I just wanted to give a few tips. ^^ You sound really dedicated which is the trait every writer needs to write masterpieces. You're on your way. Just remember to describe, don't leave us hanging. This is probably only a little of the first chapter, but please describe it right away so they're not acting out in blank space. Still, it's really awesome that you're writing this! I need to write more... *sigh*

Awww, thank you! I'm trying to stay focused, and work on it more consistently.
I get very detailed a little further in, probably too detailed to be honest.
No, it's pretty much the whole chapter xD Because of how I have it laid out, I'm pretty much using the term "chapter" as the term "comic book" and the term "book" as the term "story arc"(purely for sanity reasons; and I haven't illustrated it yet, don't know if I will either, I don't draw people well)

I think, looking back at the beginning, that my writing style has changed over the past year and half...I will end up re-wording most of it, and completely re-writing quite a few parts xp
