a warrior cats movie, you say? Is this like, confirmed? gosh, this gives me like 10 times more inspiration to start reading the books again. I've been wanting to re-read them for a while now, I wonder how many have come out..

i'm streaming! drawing some warrior cats fanart - something a little different from what i usually do!

as for the movie...well. i'm excited! but not as much as i should be; i can see it becoming a huge disappointment and yet it still may not happen, so i'm not getting my hopes up. but i am hoping for it to be a fairly decent movie, but the company will have a lot of pressure on their shoulders considering the expectations from the community.

is it gonna be into the wild,the first and the classic,or will they pick some other book from the series such as the extra-editions? will they gather more books and just mash them into one movie,like the first series? ( Into the Wild+Fire and Ice+Forest of Secrets+the other Storm book )?

As TennelleFlowers suggested, they might do any of those or a completely new story set in the Warriors universe.

But is it going to be animation? As in normal cartoon? Or 3D animation?

Considering how they did one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies, I'm assuming it will be animated.

i haven't read many books (i don't mind spoilers or anything) but i own a ton, plus i have the scourge manga book... thing.

same here! I am definitely going to re-read the series before the movie comes out. brings back so many memories from when I first got the books 10 years ago jeez.

I missed that part, but that's an interesting idea and could be really neat, although I think I'd prefer seeing the original set before any all-new stories.

So the topic of the movie has been brought up. I'd just like to put my opinion on it out there. I see everyone's points of view, and i understand of the 'Yes lets totally do it!'

BUTUUUTUTUUTUT Im so friggan worried. like helllooooo firestar cannot be recreated in my mind!!! his voice has been the same for like omg ten years now, and i really don't want it ruined!! I'd like my perfect little images to stay the same, and if a movie came out, my bff would force me to go because this was our legit childhood. My image of how fluffy bluestar is is ruined. Tigerstars stripes are different, spottedleafs elegance might not move the same. Firestar probably isnt as red as he is in my imagination. Sanstorms shade of green eyes. Jaypools stick. Yellowfangs mushy gushy face. Longtails looooonnng tail. mistystar, onewhisker, dovewing, tigerheart. They wouldn't be the same. (plus... how many movies would it take to go through every single book. because cliff hangers are a biiiigiggg no no)

I don't want pieces missing out of a plot-line, because honestly, i feel like the story line gets so complicated they would have to take some out. ANDNNDNDNDND what if they left out characters! Lines changed! Pelts more different! Voices deeper, or higher! Setting just a little off! FOUR TREES the lake, the river. the mountains. all so different than what i imagined, and what other people imagined. like, with the hunger games, did you imagine katniss like that? no! but now, everytime someone says katniss, or hermione, you think of them. Do you really want that for the intimate part of warriors? Everything is extremely based off of simple descriptions, letting the reader imagine things how they want it. But in a movie, it would broadly cover everything, so that this is how its imagined. and that is what you would think of from then onward. or at least, most of the time.

But you also have to recognize that although this may be a kids book, it doesn't really have child friendly content all the time. Like Tigerstars entire dang ideals, its like a mini Hitler. Or all the Territory fighting, there is going to be blood and gore and guts. bIRTH too! kits being born! Like what are you going to do when *SPOILER ALERT BTW* cinderpelt dies and then goes into one of the amniotic-ly soaked kits becoming cinderheart! OVERRRRR How do you show cats giving birth???!

I know some people won't agree with me but hey. its my idea, and im too stubborn to change so there.

I know this is something that will never happen, but I'm hoping it will be done in Traditional animation. You know, where artists sat down, and drew BY HAND every single scene, and they put real effort into it.

I could have a huge rant about this whole movie thing, but since I'm lazy I'll just sum up all my concerns in a few quick points. In my opinion;

1. A lot of us hold the books, storyline and characters very close to our hearts. Older members have waited around a decade for a movie. That's a HUGE expectation for the studio to meet.

2. The studio is non western, which means it probably does not have that big of a budget.

3. There's the whole "for kids but not for kids" dilemma

4. The problem of which book(s) or just using a new story

5. We are so used to perfect, amazing, very well done fan animations that follow the books word by word that a lot of us probably won't be able to handle cuts to the story (and with what we have, we're probably looking at a LOT)
