Eep, verdana made my day today cx I would've never imagined she'd think my writing high enough of a literacy to roleplay with her but she does and just wow I never would have thought

But then I sort of realized... Not many roleplayers (or ones that I've seen) really ever get complimented for their work. I see so many people doubting their writing, skills, characters, whatever, because near never are they told there work is good. When's the last time someone just wanted to say they liked your writing, or enjoyed reading it? But how many times do people encounter rejection as a one x one partner or from a group or even just because their character is the way they are
It just sort of struck me today and wow it's just sort of... Wrong seeming. Everyone doubts their writing but everyone sort of has to reject others if their literacy is too low...
I know that's the source of my doubts in my writing, and my inability to carry out a larger project. I've only ever been rejected as a partner, and although I suppose having partners that enjoy role playing with you is sort of an unspoken 'good job' or whatever it's still... Idk

Wow that probs made no sense but eh

@Rosie;
You're right on point, my dear. Everyone feels insecure about their writing, and if not now, then they have - or will - at some point. I always try to make it a point to tell someone when I enjoy their writing (or aspects of their writing, characters, etc.), and I highly enjoy receiving compliments about mine. That's the main reason I was so happy to be accepted into the Literate Roleplayers' Club, because no matter how you feel or view yourself, validation from others is always a really nice feeling.

I also enjoy reading roleplays from writers with a lower literacy level, because I can think: 'wow, this is how I was writing when I was in sixth grade' or 'I used to do these things when I was a freshman', and so I know that if they keep going they'll tremendously improve just through the nature of practice makes (almost) perfect.

tl;dr
I get what you're saying. Don't be intimidated to compliment another writer; they'll always appreciate it.

On another note entirely, I'm getting sick of these roleplays with preset characters. I didn't mind them when there were just a few; they had the potential to be fun, given I was in the mood for it. But I'll read through a plot and end up really liking it: "Perfect! I have a lovely girl/guy I could--oh..." Only to find that there are either completely preset characters, preset couples, or preset character traits. I have some fairly rigid characters that I don't like bending to fit the roleplay, and I'm not really into making entirely new characters for every roleplay, as I like fleshing my characters out nicely, and I'm able to do that if they only fit one particular plot. I think it's an epidemic that's spreading through the advanced boards.

      Im really in the mood for a good fantasy roleplay. Does anyone have or know of a roleplay tat has to do with ampires/werewolves/demons/angels/zombie or perhaps anything post-apocalyptic too. It would be much appreciated c:

      @rosie and scene; i agree. honestly, i doubt my writing a lot as well, especially my characters. mostly when discussions crop up about annoying character types and rp quirks or whatever. idk why. but every so often i get a compliment and it makes me feel nice ^^ but both of you have wonderful writing ;o;
