what do you think shows that someone really cares in a form? Other than tons of writing
It's a tough question, I'll give you that... But I guess for me it would be the depth of the character.
If they have shown throughout the writing that they have thought about it thoroughly, and have really gotten into the head of the character then they obviously care.
But it isn't tonnes of writing that defines a form. Sure it helps, if it is also quality, but it doesn't necessarily show care.
I will be here
when you think you’re all alone
Seeping through the cracks
I’m the poison in your bones
My love is your disease
I won't let it set you free
Til I break you
You’ll never know what hit you
Won’t see me closing in
I’m gonna make you suffer
This hell you put me in
I’m underneath your skin
The devil within
You’ll never know what hit you
I tried to be the lover to your nightmare
Look what you made of me
Now I’m a heavy burden that you can’t bear
Look what you made of me
Look what you made of me
I’ll make you see

Probably the development. I think that if you show that you really have thought about the character quite a bit, as well as being very deep character.
Also, expensive art. If you show that you are willing to pay quite a hefty price for art, it shows how much you want the character.

Pretty much everything for me.
1. That you even bothered to code it. For me, I am extremely visual and if I see something interesting below or above I turn my attention towards it, and this usually means colors for me.
2. A ton of writing does take part in it if it's an impress me do whatever contest. If you wrote stories, making sure your character stays consistent shows you care.
3. Art. Did you bother to do some, or buy some? Did you bother to put your time into it or spend a couple rares or two on a piece? Did you bother to arrange it nicely around the form instead of just linking it at the bottom? And lastly, do the art pieces show a story or are they just sitting there?
4. Lastly, the development. I promise you I would never pick a winner that, at the personality section, said "nice funny generous humble awesome lol" and never say a word about it again. What happened to the flaws of that character? Is he/she just perfect in every way possible? Give me some quirks, issues, flaws, it's like the white meant on a turkey.
omg sorry i think i got a little too deep in that

I don't believe that last part one bit. I wouldn't really care, if I were an artist, the quality of the art. I mean... Makes more of an impression to put real effort into your own piece than buy a piece of art from someone else. Even if you're bad at art, if you show them you're trying, it's better. And way cheaper.
I agree with the development part though.

That's fine. ^^ I was just meaning after you have a wonderful personality and there is obviously effort in the piece. But I just meant that after that, you don't buy the cheapest art you can come across, but rather, show that you will do anything for the character.

To weigh in, I actually like doing my own art, or ordering from newer/ not as amazingly perfect artists. If everyone got from the expensive artists, then what about the ones just wanting to learn and grow but can't because no one orders from them? I think it's the heart put into a piece, not always the quality

Just the amount of time and effort they put into it, really. If you put plenty of time into your form developing the character and fleshing them out then it should show. I also like to think that people who make their own art rather than ordering it tends to show more effort. I suppose ordering art alongside making it yourself helps too, but I think it just seems better when you're the one who made most of the art even if it isn't among the best quality. How good it is (to an extent) shouldn't really matter if you gave it your all. At least, in my opinion.
Also, agree with PureCrazy. Expensive art is nice and all but doesn't really show you love a character, just that you actually have the funds to spend on such art. What if you love a character with all your heart and have only uncommons/a couple recent rares, whereas another person has loads of list pets to spend but doesn't really care as much?

Make sure this steers back to the question, guys c:
Not turns into a debate about art in forms :3

what do you think shows that someone really cares in a form? Other than tons of writing I think a good personality in the depths of the character, really how you connect with the character because I find if you can't connect with the character your form won't be as good. Also any kind of art is good as long as you put the effort in making or buying art its all that counts.
