Also welcome!! Gosh I do agree he did deserve better. I read manga really quick, so it really was just yesterday when he first appeared in my eyes!
No problem! Just bored on cs and have nothing to do haha! The manga is ahead of the anime. The anime left off at mid chapter 70. I think 3 manga chapters is equal to an epsiode! I recommend watching season 1 and 2 of anime, because the anime follows the manga very closely, it's almost exact! I suggest that if you can't wait for season 3, which comes out in 2018, then you can go ahead and read the manga. Mangastream gives the best translations, but they don't have all the chapters in archive. They only release the latest chapters. I read using mangatown, and when I got to the most recent chapter I switched to mangastream.
In my opinion, I don't feel that Izuku gets all the screen time, even though he's the main character. I've seen videos on YouTube where people guess the main character of animes, and for bnha they usually don't have an idea of who it is, because they are a variety of students, heros, and villians! Lots of characters, but you'll remember them! Took me a while to remember them, but because they always come up in the manga and epsiodes their names stuck to my head! Its clear that Izuku is the main character, it is his story, but the focus go to other characters too! For instance, if theres a big battle of heroes and villians, the focus shifts to everyone to show that they all are battling someone. It like when you start to wonder how a character is doing, they appear! The kids get development too. Sometimes it's not just a character development arcs that develop them, but they develop overtime. For example, Izuku's childhood "friend" is different than he was at the begining of the show, he's not fully developed but you can notice subtle changes!
Shipping is always fun, and you'll start to notice that Izuku is always shipped with someone, the guy is good at making friends! The show is definitely not a harem. There's not really any relationships going on, but Izuku and the main girl, Ochako Uraraka might happen(?) I'm not sure. It's honestly hard to tell who will end up with who! I don't think love is a big part of the show, at least I never noticed it anyways! Shipping characters in the show is just a fun little thing to do. Even friendship between two characters may lead you into shipping them, haha!
Edit;; and no problem! Answering your questions is fun for me, doesn't really require any research because it's only what I remember and my opinions of what I've noticed when I read/watched bnha
