Let's just say he is a person that only trusts himself,not very friendly,thinks no one care about him,etc. He can mostly be negative until later on in Naruto

He feels that the only way to give your life meaning is to have a purpose. He says that his purpose is to kill and become strong, and he thinks love and the will to protect his friends is a weakess. All of this is due to his traumatizing past. Having the shukaku, the 1tailed beast, inside of him he was feared by the entire village and even the one closest to him betrayed him and hated him in the end. This drove him to the brink of insanity, and he eventually just settled for scareing people to get his way.

shukaku. I did not know that, that is sooooooooo cool. I recently watched a naruto music vid. what exactly happens in the fight between gaara and lee?

Well gaara sort of crushes lees right arm and leg useing his sand coffin jutsu. This makes it nearly imposible for lee to become a ninja. Tsunade tells him the risks of preforming a surgery like the one he would need to fix his arm and leg. He takes the risk and in the end xomes out ok.
