Sorry about not commenting much, I thought you were supposed to survey 10 posts ahead to crit.
Also, I'll keep the anatomy tips in mind, as far as realism grows that was pretty much my second one ever, so I'm pretty proud of it with all honesty.
As for comments...
♋ Ƨɛвαƨтιαи Ƨмʏтнɛ ♋ ~ The tail looks a bit thin to me, and the color looks a bit hurried. I'm personally not a fan of sketch-line pieces... But I really think it turned out pretty nicely! I mean, I fail at horses totally so I'm pretty easilly wooed!
I mean, that is pretty awesome though, next time try some smoother lines perhaps? Also, if I'm not supposed to see the other ear, that's cool. B)
Neelix ~ Really nice design, in my opinion. Blue and orange were my elementary school colors~ I think the whiskers might need a bit of tweaking, as the lines look a bit blotchy. But yeah, they're pretty wonderful! I think this looks pretty nice, though you may want to survery some anatomy stuff. .3. But what do I know? I fail as far as anatomy is concerned. But totally off topic, thank you so much Muggafinn, thanks to you my anatomy is starting to improve! :3
DoctorDraca ~ That is so cool! I mean, the reptiles are a bit less common on CS~ But, those are still just woah! I mean, your art = boss. B)
Lovely Radiance ~ The anatomy might need some tweaks, but that's still a pretty awesome sea serpent. Ho hum... Those are a bit uncommon as well! I saw someone red-blue lined it, so follow some helpful tips and your good.
Also, welcome!
Also, everyone, thanks for the feedback! I might need someone to help me out with another realism redline again soon. .3.
You're all just so helpful! And I was aware my tail decided to kill itself. It just died.
But it's fine, I mean, it's only me second. I really hope you guys will help me further improve my skills and I can try my best to help you improve yours!

Thanks for the comments. c: The color is rather hurried, as I get incredibly distracted when sitting for that length of time. I'm not a fan of smooth lines; I prefer sketchy. c: it looks better to me. Also the other ear is supposed to be hidden. c:

I haven't been feeling very well lately but I am going to hold a live stream (I checked and all being held seem to be over) in order to point out things for
everyone here as well as some red lines for the recent art. ^^
https://join.me/741-271-768DONE
Post shall be edited with the redlines and critique when I am done, so if you have questions on anything pop in and ask.
EDIT:
Redline for Milo:
http://www.iaza.com/work/120605C/iaza15661068123800.gifTo as well as everyone else, i'd just like to point out that even if you don't know exact anatomy of something, but you have a pretty good understanding of basic bone structure you can create much more vivid poses as well as characters. The pose of something can make the character, not everything is a side walking or running/standing view and that gets very static unless you are creating a reference sheet. I have a quick sketch I made to show what I mean, if you try changing up the pose it will grasp the attention of the viewer more.
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1217354Last but not least I have an adoptable I doodled up for an example to Milo about color palettes and jewelry, etc.

Neelix wrote:Lovely Radiance wrote: Okay this'll be my first time posting here. ^^ I want to see if I might be able to get some help for anatamy and proper lighting for this:

I need to work on making my light source in the right places, and I was hoping if someone could tell me if this is fine or what I should do to possibly fix it.
If there's anything you think I might be able to improve on please let me know. ^^
I really like how you did the light coming through the water. That part looks really nice.
I think I copied it too much. Sigh.

I'm thinking about making the ears tufted.
Crits welcome, and Tide, I'm really sorry for copying it so much... I tried to make it my own, but I think this is nearly art theft, although it wasn't intentional.
It's easy to do that when you're trying to draw over a redline, so I recommend having it open in another file and looking at it for ideas while you're re-drawing your own piece.
I'd also recommend not copying the pose- use it to get a sense of what positions are possible and play around with that. c;

Neelix, it's no problem. I agree with Medusa's Cascade, open a new file and try and copy based on what you see. It's not because I don't like being copied but I know it helped me a lot to just look at things and try and do it my self because then you begin to develop a style and to learn anatomy.

Everything seems to be commented on.
I just need help with this:

I think Tide's done a good job at helping you already. As far as anatomy goes, I suggest looking up references of snakes and fish (as your creature is basically a snake with fins), and see how they look. How fins can look, how big they can get, etc. Looking at photos of these animals can also help you to come up with patterns and colours.
For lighting, I suggest not over-using the airbrush, and stay away from black in the shading! To shade, use colours (like dark blue and violet) and avoid black. Black will give your creature an unnatural feel. Once you have the shading down, then use the airbrush to highlight parts in a lighter colour (like light yellow) and use a smaller, semi-transparent brush to add smaller highlights (like small specs on a smooth surface). Avoid going outside of the lines where the light hits the creature. It's alright to have the lightsource wide where the light is produced, but unless your creature is glowing completely, mind the outlines.
You do have a good sense of where the light is supposed to be, and keeping a consistent lightsource. Overall, you did a very good job, you just need to toy around with shading and lighting more. Then again, don't we all? :p
----------------
Now for something completely different.
But not that different.
I decided to sketch around during classes and redesigned an earlier creature.
This was it before (the middle one).
This is it after.
I dropped the heavy crest and gave it a bit more muscle, yet tried to keep it nice. It did lose a bit of its scariness.
I see it as improvement, though. And I intend on changing its features and adding new ones to make it a bit more scary again, though I am open to suggestions on making it even better.
Thank you very much, even this helps me a ton. I'll give all of the things here both you and Tide have suggested a try, hopefully on my next piece. I tend to slightly (majorly) use the airbrush tool, so i'll try to stay away from that for darkening. And thank you everyone for the comments. ^^

To be honest it's quite beautiful, especially for a traditional piece. I actually think it's near perfect once I take a second look at it O_O. It's wonderful, and I'm rather jelous ;u; Very well done!

@ Koiyote- This is absolutely an amazing piece of artwork. The colors and shadows blend as they should be and everything just fits into place. If i had to criticize then it would be about the tail and how it goes off the page and isn't complete. But that doesn't seem a problem with the picture. Well done X3 Keep up the good work.
