i havent played genshin impact since like 2022. my friend told me she was interested in playing but then changed her mind :/ my laptop doesnt have that much storage so im a bit peeved that she didnt even try. at this point im not going to uninstall it again, so im stuck between basically restarting or starting from where i left off (somewhere in chapter 3 maybe)

Well! If you're looking for people to play with, depending on your server I'm usually willing to mess around and fight some guys! Joining friends worlds and destroying just about everything in my path is my favorite hobby. :p I'm only on the America server though so alas if you're outside that I can't really help there.

As for restarting vs continuing where you left off I'd take a good look at the characters you have on your account and decide how attached you are? Its hard to judge who may come back when so if you want to restart and can live without any limited 5* characters you may have then probably go for it? Otherwise I would be hesitant to recommend it.

I got Wrio but then I was pulling for his weapon.. instead of getting his weapon I got Furina’s weapon. I technically didn’t lose the fifty fifty but I did at the same time… instead however don’t own furina so guess Kuki gets the sword

I say this specifically because of my background as an American-born-and-raised Chinese gal whose parents immigrated to the US from mainland China when they were adults and whose mother still keeps up with and talks about stuff happening in China and what Chinese culture and society was like when she was growing up and what it's like today:

I'm pretty amazed that we're actually getting decent disability representation in Genshin, a Chinese game.

I'm convinced that someone at Hoyo with influence definitely either has a disability themselves or a loved one with one. I'm grateful they're there, because the kind of characters I expect from people who aren't jerks but don't actually know what's what in the disability area are Glory, Childish Jiang, and Avin (the girl from Yoimiya's second Story Quest)...

Not the absolute gems that are Collei, Dunyarzad, Dulphy, Ororon, or Iansan. We don't GET gems like these characters from anyone who doesn't actually get what's going on for us.

Iansan in particular is interesting from a character design perspective... I can definitely understand if people take issue with her. However, the bar is all the way down in hell even in the US, and Iansan isn't just on the floor, she's above the floor! (For comparison, Glory, Childish Jiang, and Avin are lying down on the floor.) Not to mention that it's impossible to have perfect rep* with one (1) character, because whatever is being repped in any area you can think of spans a huge gamut, so you need multiple characters for good rep--and I think Collei, Dunyarzad, Dulphy, Ororon, and Iansan span a pretty good range for rep.

A decent range for disability rep including playable characters in my cool, big name fantasy game made in China? I'm SO happy. Obviously I want more (it's awfully convenient that out of those in the "above the floor" rep list, everyone except Iansan the dark-skinned gal has an invisible disability/condition!), and I'm sending in feedback about wanting more, but this is already literally beyond my wildest dreams, and I hope more people can recognize that instead of angrily taking up arms against Hoyo because it doesn't meet progressive American expectations.

* assuming it exists (it doesn't--obviously we should strive for it, because shoot for the stars and you'll reach the moon, but if anyone tries bringing up the concept of "perfect representation" as if it actually exists, they don't know what they're talking about)

does anyone here on this thread play other "gatcha" games (just learned the words + language for this) like Infinity Nikki?

I feel like there'd be a crossover between CS x Genshin x Infinity Nikki players haha, but maybe I'm wrong!

i feel like people that play one gacha game often play others, so i wouldn't be surprised if there was a crossover!

i'm a long time gacha game enjoyer so i've played many (mostly rhythm games though) ^^ my mains rn are actually infinity nikki and honkai star rail. i want to get back into genshin but i think i'm gonna try to get caught up with those first. (i did log in recently to get wriothesley... i've been wanting him for so long)

I dropped it around the time of last year's Lantern Rite Fest and wanna get back into it but its a little overwhelming cause my characters are no longer scaled up enough and I really don't want to grind for artifacts to enjoy Natlan :') Is it the characters I'm using?? I use Qiqi, Yenfei, Shogun and Ayato/Tighnari

truthfully the only thing that really gets me into genshin is the story. so i usually end up getting a bit invested if they release a new main story quest or interesting event

idk if you've started natlan at all, but as long as you have a decent team i don't think any of the battles are super difficult? some are just long, so i think you'll be okay if your team has a good healer or a shield! are the characters you mentioned your main team, or are they just a list of ones you like to use? (i'm having trouble imagining using them together, but i don't doubt that someone could make it work haha)

I tried starting Natlan but I haven't even finished Fountaine so I feel like I need to get that done first, and they are the main team I use! I like using them for elemental reactions! Qiqi is like my only healer I have built but I could try building my Zhongli 🤔
