How often do you read (not including on CS)?

Oh my, I love this question so much. <3 I read all the time. Like it is ridiculous how much I read. I really have no life besides tumblr, and lately books seem to be keeping me sane. I typically only read books that are like bricks, though I will read thinner ones if I have to, or if it is suggested. I refuse to read off a kindle, cause it doesn't have the 'book smell.'
I am right now only reading either John Green books, or reading books that have to deal with some sort of fantasy realm as well as medieval time related.
But back to the question. I finish a book in about a week [ depending on length ], I read for a good two to three hours a day [ unless I really want to finish the book, then I will read until it is done. ] and get new books all time. :D

Four hours a day, minimum. I've been engrossed in books since I was four; most of my elementary school teachers just let me be and gave me some of the middle school/early high school books to read. Reading is so beneficial that I don't understand why anyone who reads can have bad grammar or a limited vocabulary. I learned most of what I know that way.

Plus, I love imagining myself in the adventures. c:

This is actually a bit of a tricky question for me. I don't read many actual paper books nowadays, as I'm mainly working on expanding my writing skills. I learn a lot of my vocab from roleplayers on this very site, nowadays, though of course I originally expanded on my vocabulary through judicious reading and Kumon.

When I get an actual book, however, I devour it really quickly. I'm a naturally fast reader, and I was getting through a Harry Potter book a day (until I reached the long books from the Goblet of Fire and beyond, of course XD). This swiftness is also my disadvantage at times, as well, because sometimes I'll have to reread the book a few times to fully understand it since I read so fast. :/

I have a question as well:

Code: Select all
In your opinion, what is the optimal number of users or characters in a roleplay?

That was a bit difficult to word.
Anyways, do you prefer larger groups? 1x1's? Is there a specific number you have? Do you like it best when there's a low amount of characters, or a really large variety of them?

Largely depends on the roleplay, I think. The optimal number for me is just enough people so that subplots can develop and overlap, but not so many that it just becomes seven separate RPs in one thread. What's the point of including 783 characters if they're in groups of two or three? The plot becomes muddled; remembering the individual relationships between specific characters becomes a monumental task; and the unity and purpose of the RP fractures.

I like the one x one I'm starting right now because there's a lot more intimacy to it. Not in the...you know what I mean.

I recently had an urge to roleplay dragon riders, and I decided to make a roleplay, for 4 people and their dragons only. Would anyone be interested in something like this?

One other user, that's it xD I like being able to plan and yet go off on subplots still. Sooometimes if they're users i know and i know they'll stick with it, then I'll do a group of three or four, absolutely no more. It's too intimidating to me, and I end up feeling left out or left behind

so I still have a few plots that I'm really looking for... just going to keep shamelessly advertising xD

post apocalypse;; Two groups have emerged in a city after most have died of sickness. The one in control of the city has a socialist way of running things, and the other is a gang trying to overtake the city. They don't take kindly to deserters, or other people, really. Both boys tried to make a run for it, one escaping and the other getting caught, only kept alive in the gang because he is useful. However, he still meets up with the other boy, who brings him better food and tries to get him out.

other;;a man, teacher, is accused of having relations with a student that never happened, and spends a good amount of time in jail. He undergoes some traumatizing things there, and when he gets out, he has to leave, after being ridiculed by the town he used to live in. He moves and settles down in a small town where he thinks things will be fine, finding a job in some small restaurant or something. He thinks no one will find out about what had happened, and a man grows interested in him. He's super wary of it after what happened to him in the prison, but he eventually comes to realize the man is gentle and means him no harm, but shortly after he begins to return affections things get out about what happens, and he's accused of more things, and so yeah... things go from there.

what would you do by bastille
a man goes to the bar/club and feeling bad for a particular dancer, asks them out into the back for a little round so he can pay them, and he realizes that this man is actually a highschool acquaintance. They get into a little conversation, and the man inadvertently reveals that he's trying to support a kid, his own kid actually. The mother is in the picture but only taking money, and not really helping. There would be a series of chance encounters and the one that had went to the bar seems rather aloof and disdained about it all, he eventually comes around to realize the man is trying as hard as he can and yeah. drama and some fluff and whatnot

lionking-esque
I'll just use the names SImba and Nala for ease.
Mufasa is the leader of a powerful gang in the middle of a large city. His brother, Scar is the leader of a smaller gang, but much more ruthless than his larger brothers. He poisons his brother, since he is allowed in the houses of the larger gangs, and makes Simba believe it was him that poisoned him, and forces the young kid to run away. Nala and Simba have been best friends since birth basically, and when Simba dissapearred, things weren't the same for him at all. Simba finds himself on the street, hungry and without shelter, and is taken in by a troop of strippers. They don't let him work young, but when he gets older they let him work for his keep. The initiation for the gang is to get with someone at 18 however, and so Nala is sent off by his friends for the stripper that they hired for him. [insert super awkwad moments]. In the morning, one or the other realizes it was their best friend from childhood, and insert more awkward. Nala tries to convince him to come back, but he won't. Behind the scenes, Scar has taken over the larger pack, and treats Nala quite badly- bruises often cover him from his attempts to escape the unwanted intimate attention. Eventually after quite a few meetings, Nala would convince Simba to come back.

Scorpio Races
Idk I was something original with this. Original characters, original plot.
