Hi everyone! I just wrote a poem! Here it is:

The Moonlit Symphony

The stars are dancing,
to the moonlit symphony.

The sound of the darkness,
creates light.

The music they play,
is all around us.

We just can't hear it,
because it belongs to the stars.

Tonight,
they will play.

They will play,
the moonlit symphony.

And, maybe, just maybe,
they will let me listen to it.

"One kiss, my bonny sweetheart; I'm after a prize tonight,
But I shall be back with the yellow gold before the morning light.
Yet if they press me sharply, and harry me through the day,
Then look for me by moonlight,
Watch for me by moonlight,
I'll come to thee by moonlight, though hell should bar the way."

Ok, how about 10 minutes? And is there a specific theme you'd like to write?

(And Tara, I added your poem to the front page. =3 )

The forest stood still, as it always had. Wind hardly rustled the branches, and the snow sat motionless. Though it was engulfed in an unending blizzard that had claimed many a life, it seemed, for just a breif moment, that all was peaceful. Birds never tweeted, wolfs refused to howl, and even the strongest of dear would not seek refuge in such a forbidding place.
They say only one animal walks this path, and he is long dead. Nothing more than a looming spirit, forced to finish his earthly duties before going to rest.
One-hundred-fifty years ago he died. Not as a hero, but as an overworked carriage horse, left to rot in the snow as so many others had. Nameless and forgotten.
Once he had a name. Long, long ago the humans would admire him. They'd bring their most prized mares to him in hopes that the stallion would sire their foals. But now he has nothing. His memory, lost after the many years he spent alone, holds no recollection of those times. Some call him tempest, for the stormy look in his clouded eyes, and for his strange ability.
Where he walks a storm will cease behind him, blocked by his wings. Spread out as a barrier, the snow and the wind can only go around. This is what brought the calm to the forest. Soon it would resume it's ragings. the horse would move on and the frost would return.
If one were to follow him they'd escape the danger of the storm, and of his own fate. He serves as a guardian of the forest. While he must bear the brunt of the storm and serve as a sheild, the others will remain safe, guided safely to their destination.

307 words.
Sorry i was a bit late. I had it timed for ten minutes and did it in that time, but I didn't start on time.
Wow I type slow.

The small sparrow fluttered from branch to branch, chattering in alarm. The tabby cat sprang, but the sparrow was to fast, and it soared away, into the clear blue sky. Fishpaw sighed, and his mentor, Minnowtail, ran his tail along his spine confortingly. "Don't worry, there is plently of prey wtih newleaf just around the corner," he said. He flicked his tail toward the old ash tree, suggesting they should try hunting over there. Fishpaw, dissapointed in his fail to catch the sparrow, sighed again and followed his mentor away from the tree.

*more the come later! hope you like it so far. I know it's not much, but I have to take a break, lol. it is patterned after the warrior's series (obviously), but I tried to use new names....*

I walked through the snowy forest, admiring the beautiful sight of the snow on the bare branches of the trees, the animal prints, and the gentle snowflakes falling from above. And yet it wasn't so pretty. I was alone, in a cold forest, lost.
I had made it the night before by catching a small squirrel with my hands and being able to cook it over a small fire I had managed to start. This morning, I decided to use fresh snow as a water source, and I ended up eating some berries I had found.
And now, I'm here, standing on the top of a steep slope with a drop of about 13 feet. But I could see a thawed stream at the bottom. I could also see, in the distance, a hiker information cabin.
I was excited. I pulled my fur coat closer to me, took a deep breath, and jumped.
I felt my feet his solid ground, and I stumbled. After regaining my balance, I ran towards the stream.
I grinned and crouched down near the water. I leaned forward and took a sip of the fresh, cool, clean water. I sighed happily.
After I had drank to my heart's content, I started walking towards the information cabin. After awhile I started getting tired. “Come on,” I mumbled to myself.
Fifteen minutes later, I had finally made it to the information cabin. I sighed happily and walked inside.
“Hello, welcome to the Information booth. How may I help you today?”
I smiled at the lady, who smiled back. “Well, you see, I kind of got lost here,” I admitted. The lady looked up.
“Lost?” she questioned. I nodded. She walked around the desk to me and herded me to her truck, where we both got in, and she drove me home. To my wonderful, warm, cozy home.

Aww, so close to me! I had 314 words. Only 11 words difference!

EDIT: I like your story, kadoodle!
