I habitually join most role-plays man... rn I'm in a warriors phase but soon I'll switch over to puppers and then back again. But if royal's is restarted I will jump on that man.

quick question, how do you report people for stealing your coding ?

sadly you cant. BB coding is so widely used on various platforms that you cant claim stake to one idea or sequence of coding. The only thing you could report for as far as coding/forms go would be name theft of a unique character name or if the entire form was stolen and replaced with new images.

Edit; and even then it's unlikely it'd go far since it's entirely possible that they came up with the layout themselves.

Whenever it happens to me I always send a message to the owner of the role-play and then join that role-play with the original coding and watch them squirm haha...

At this point I just shrug it off unless it's copious amounts of coding. It's not worth my time to try and deduce if someone has used part of my coding. As long as someone isn't outright stealing my entire format and either 1.) using the whole form. 2.) using all of the coding and just replacing images. or 3.) using images that are privately mine or that I have explicit permission to use from the photographer. Then I've just learned to shrug it off. It's not worth my time and frustration.

I just think of it as they'll never learn how to do it if the steal all of it so jokes on them. I'm also currently trying to find the post about it all just gotta have a few mins so I can dig it up.

We sometimes get reports complaining that someone has stolen their layout or "form". Unfortunately you cannot copyright your particular layout of bb code and font colors. We encourage everyone to design their own roleplay layouts, but there's nothing we can do if someone else's font color, alignment, size and placement of images looks suspiciously similar to the formatting of your own posts. It's quite possible that the same design may have been thought of independently and it's not worth getting upset about it.

We also sometimes get reports about character "theft" if someone else starts using the same reference image that you use, or the same character name. If you own exclusive rights to the image then you should report anyone else who uses it, but if it's just something random you found online then you don't own it and you can't stop anyone else from using it. If your character name is particularly unique then you can report the person who you believe stole it and give us any information to explain why you think they stole it. However, if your character is just named something like John or Taylor then there's nothing unique about that and anyone can use that name.

tenesse it’s happened to me a few times, usually I just pm the user and tell them that my coding isn’t free to use and just ask them to either order their own coding or make their own. It hasn’t happened that often, thankfully, but that’s what I’ve done

I've had it happen like three times, I PMed them and two of them took it down completely
and the other ended up asking me if they could buy some forms from me so that was cool lol
