I managed to play withy uncle, who gifted me my DnD starter set, and with some of his friends. It was really a lot of fun! Still looking for other people to play with, but no-one around me is very interested. XP

Anyone have ideas on how to get people around you to be interested in playing DnD? Or find new ones?

Most cities have a shop that sells D&D stuff and they may host nights where they play. I know in the city I lived in before I moved for Uni it was a gaming store. They sold board games and all sorts of stuff and had weekly sessions open to the public

i've started playing a few months ago with a few friends from the very basics, i'm a wizard elfess called chisato. and then i started only recently dming in my very own family but Narnia themed, so we call it Narnia&Aslan, N&A :p

who else has a member in their party who does the craziest things without minding ANYONE and then against all odds everything goes out ok? we cant stand him but then of course we all love him hehe
one time though, we were fortunate we managed to talk him out of freeing a trapped nothic!!! that couldnt possibly have gone right

hi! so i have never even played d&d, i actually found out about it through a youtube speedpaint ^^' i have absolutely not clue about anything about d&d except for the fact that i'm super interested in it! it seems like such an awesome thing to have your own world and adventure and play through it with a cast of awesome characters! can anyone help me out with learning the basics a bit? i'd love to play it some time, but i'm a little intimidated cause there seems to be so much to learn!

There is a lot to learn and it can be intimidating at first. I know they sell some starter kits with some premade characters and story to take the initial stress out of it but a lot of it is trial and error and lots of googling. Unfortunately the game is incredibly open ended and the rules can be changed depending on the group. the amount of homebrew stuff is also very stressful as well as nothing is really set in place

Still a newbie, can't really find any communities here in Korea ^^' so I've been sort of doing RP-heavy versions of D%D over Discord with friends haha.

I know a lot of people who struggle to find people nearby use roll20. I've never used it myself but I've seen videos of other people using it and it looks like its a good alternative. Maybe you and discord friends can try using that?

I'm playing in a campaign with my best friends at the moment that our DM wrote!!

Because we all graduated school recently it's hard to find time to play, and some of our party members are moving away for university next year so who knows how far we'll actually get haha

I do know people who run a weekly campaign and one of them asked if I wanted to join but idk how I'd do in a campaign with people I don't know that well! I've played with the same group of close friends since last year so it's easy to get into the roleplay elements or do things that might stuff up our plans completely, and I don't think I'd have much confidence playing with others fhdjks
