@Hazel
aww that's always so sad when you move and can't take a fishy with you.
But, sometimes it's for the best, it stresses them out too much.
I know that all too well - my poor fish were moved around quite a lot earlier in the year.
Moved from my parents place into an apartment. Apartment had a flood (not our fault) and we ended our lease, so the tank went back to stay at my parents house, then finally moving into the house i'm in now, and once again moving the fishies.
Thankfully throughout that entire process i only lost 2 fish, a sumo loach, my Albino bristlenose pleco, and one of my Pygmy corydoras.
Well, technically 3 fish, but one of them had nothing to do with the move.
Lost my betta, angel.
But, i guess i'm kinda weird with bettas. I adopt the sick ones with dirty water and god knows what else wrong with them. I've gotten ones with Ich, bacterial infections, fin rot, etc.
This little guy had dropsy - which there is no known cure for.
Basically their internal organs shut down and their body fills up with fluid. It's quite sad. i don't believe there is a known cause for it either.
But, i wanted him to have a life where he lived in a great tank, was fed yummy food, and just had a much better quality of life.
He lasted around 3 months, and was happy - that's all i can really ask for.
With Barney, his water was almost brown at the store i got him at, and his "cup" was split, so the "cup" was only half filled. He also had fin rot, and has a bit of a wonky jaw. Idk how to explain the jaw other than that. lol. it goes to the side a bit, so it's hard for him to eat food. you gotta be patient and feed him a little at a time, right in front of him. He gets pellets, as well as Brine occasionally. I spoon feed him the brine. <3
But, he's doing much better now

His fins are healing up well, and he's getting some more weight on him from being able to eat. <3
