Put down? Why?

Is your friends rat a boy or girl/and yours? :)

They are both male rats. Right now my my rat (Raisin) is sitting on my shoulder and broxing.
And yes, he was put down because his leg was dislocated by the other. My parents have refused to get me multiple rats because they think they will fight >.>

To be honest I don't think you and your friend should let them just meet if it's just a quick meet and that's all - male rats will become very defensive and could seriously hurt eachother. Even with careful introductions, mine have ended up with gaping wounds and needing stitches. Girl rats are much better, generally, and would be fine to meet and play. As for males, they really aren't the best no, introductions can take months, so a quick meet will distress them. :)

Ok. Would it be possible to get him a permanent friend if I convince my parents? Or would he fight with any rat.

I would get him a friend, and if you do, probably a pair of younger boys. Baby rats (around 10 weeks so they are big enough, but young and quite submissive). It's the fact your friends male and him will jsut see eachother as a threat and attack. If you get babies, I can link you to some proper advice on introductions. If you go through introductions gradually, then hopefully he will have friends in no time.

You need more than one rat.

Have you ever had a rat?: Owned them a number of years and have over 60 right now.

thats not a rule, and if cloud needed minimods, i'm shure she would've asked. just one question for anyone who might know:
do rats get along with other smaller rodents like mice and hamsters? because we were gonna get two, but i thought of letting the other one be my lil sisters, but she wants something more... i dunno less 'gross'

A rat will kill a mouse or hamster.

One rat isn't a rule, no - but it's their natural need, and it's neglecting an instinct to have one.
